Marketing Club has set yet another benchmark and conducted an impeccable program on 30th January 2020. After a befitting curtain-raiser the previous day, hopes were raised and they lived up to everyone’s expectations. The activity commenced at 2.30 pm in the Auditorium of Management Block, Christ University, Lavasa. The meticulous sitting arrangement was noteworthy. It brought novelty to a pattern and was a treat to the eyes. The students of marketing specialization put up a grand show with zeal and enthusiasm, consisting of varied competitions such as ad poster gallery, video competition and press conference. The entire program had a tinge of professionalism and the seniors were able to present a meaningful and engaging show. Flash Dance In A Flash Of A Second

As soon as the first lecture got over on 29th January 2020, there was a pleasant surprise for one and all. Suddenly the ambiance in amphitheater came alive with a surprise flash mob initiated by students of Marketing and eventually others too joined in. The impromptu flash dance was a curtain-raiser for their upcoming program. Despite the bright warm sun, the students danced while the other students and faculty members watched in rapt attention. The audience was thrilled to the core watching them dance with gay abandon. The ecstasy and frenzy could be seen on their faces as they flashed a beaming smile and dance in sync with each other. In all, it was a pleasant surprise and a break from the routine. With renewed energy, they went back to their classes and resumed the daily routine. Release Of Moot Problem For THEMIS 2020

First-year students of the School of Law are slowly and gradually being introduced to the nuances of the law. They are observant enough to understand how theoretical knowledge is combined with practical experience to achieve a purpose. On 19th January 2020 the School of Law, CHRIST, Lavasa released the moot problem for THEMIS 2020. CHRIST Lavasa National Moot Court Competition has been scheduled to be held from 27th to 29th March 2020. The moot problem was released by Director & Dean, Dr Fr Jossy P George, CHRIST Lavasa Campus in the presence of Dr. Daisy Alexander, HOD, School of Law along with other faculty members of the department and student office bearers of the Moot Court Society. CHRIST, Lavasa Celebrates 71st Republic Day With Utmost Reverence

The country's 71st Republic Day was celebrated at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa on 26th January 2020. The guards assembled in attendance and after a floral tribute Academic Coordinator, Dr Fr Arun Antony unfurled the national flag to mark the occasion and Mr JK Pandey along with HOD, School Of Law, Dr Daisy Alexander saluted the flag as staff representatives for MBA and UG courses respectively.  Shubham Singh delivered a speech in Hindi and Astha Singh proudly spoke about Republic Day in English on this occasion highlighting the relevance of the day. She further narrated the importance of constitution and how it has brought about a remarkable change in the society. Satarupa Goswami anchored the entire show. On the auspicious occasion of country’s 71st Republic Day CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa presented a panoramic extravaganza of contemporary performing arts through a vibrant program aptly entitled `Colours of India on 25th January 2020 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa.  It showcased spectacular performances based on dance, drama and music. It was a perfect manifestation of Indian culture, which is rich in varieties of art form and a wonderful representation of unity in diversity. The day began with Sports Day celebration of Dasve Public School at CIML followed by annual alumni meet, which was attended by nearly 26 students. The inaugural ceremony of Sapience: The Quiz Club of Christ (Deemed to be University), Lavasa was conducted on 22nd January 2020 in the classrooms and later in the Auditorium, Management Block from 2.30 PM onwards. It was inaugurated by Director & Dean, Dr Fr. Jossy P George and organized by First Year MBA students.  An array of activities were planned for an enriching experience. All the activities were evaluated and the winning team was awarded certificates. The preliminary round was conducted in respective classrooms and the students assembled in the Auditorium for Finals. Best Manager Award And More Won By CIML Students

It is a matter of great pride and honours that MBA students of Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa participated in `Symplulse, a BFest organized by Symbiosis Centre For Management Studies (SCMS), Pune and won many awards. They brought laurels to CHRIST by winning many contests. It was a proud moment for the contestants to surpass participants from over 60 colleges from Pune, Mumbai and the rest of India. Sympulse 2020 was a national level fest, organized from 15th to 17th January 2020. Utsavi Bhatia was prepared from the beginning and the preparation began when she gave virtual online tasks which were given at 11:00 PM and had to be submitted by 2:00 AM. She feels overwhelmed after competing for the Best Manager Competition. The event incorporated an in-depth analysis of a case study followed by situational analysis. Assistant Professor Amrita Tamang from Department Of Computer Science, CHRIST, Lavasa presented a research paper at SIMSR International Finance Conference conducted by Somaiya Vidyavihar University, K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research (SIMSR), Mumbai on 17th and 18th January 2020. The theme of SIFICO 2020 was “Risk Management in Banks and Financial Markets”. Assistant Professor Anshul Saxena, Assistant Professor Amrita Tamang, and Dr Vandana Vijay Bhagat had jointly prepared the paper.  Assistant Professor Amrita Tamang presented the paper during Conference TRACK V - Capital Markets. The title of the paper was `Using NLP on Financial News Headlines to Spot Stock Market Trends’. She was allotted precisely 10 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for the question and answer session. A Perfect Score

Business Standard conducted a quiz on 15th January 2020 for MBA students. The result was overwhelming. The students took part in the quiz with a great deal of enthusiasm, which was clearly reflected in their perfect score. A large number of students got cent percent, they were delighted and further inspired by a perfect score. This has inspired them to take part in future and add on to their knowledge. A flawless score has motivated others as well to read more and reach the highest level of success in a quiz. The quiz was coordinated by CRM, Mr JK Pandey. CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa hosted an International Conference on Management Research and Studies (ICMRS) on 18th and 19th January 2020. The theme was ``Evolving Business: Management, Ethics and Law’. ICMRS was organized in collaboration with technology partner - TCSION and business partner - Business Standard.  Today, we live in a VUCA world and change is a way of life. The breakneck velocity of innovations facilitated by technology is redefining almost every aspect of human society. Technologies are making production processes more efficient. Modern tools of business analytics are automated, refined and precise, thus freeing up time for businesses to focus on core activities. The frontiers of innovation are being extended continuously, often by start-ups with daring business ideas. Crescedent, Annual Athletic Meet organized at CHRIST, Lavasa

Crescedent, the annual athletic sports meet was organized on 17th and 18th January 2020 at Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa under the guidance of Academic Coordinator, Dr Fr Arun Antony and sports teacher, Mr Prakash. The students assembled according to their respective houses in the well manicured green lawn. It was a grand opening amidst loud cheer. Nihaal Thapa anchored the program confidently. The inter to intra competitions were meticulously planned and executed. It began with recital of a prayer song by Mallika and Anshika. It was a proud moment for the School of Law, Christ University, Lavasa to conduct ‘The Primis Moot Court Competition’ for first-year students of Law on 12thJanuary 2020.  The event was conceptualized by Head of the Department, Dr. Daisy Alexander and participation by students marked the inception of mooting culture in the School of Law, which is mandatory for every Law student as a Freshman. HARMONEY – the Finance Club of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Lavasa conducted its club activity on 10th January 2020 in the Auditorium of Management Block. It was organized by first-year MBA Finance specialization students and attended by around 60 students from the Management campus. The event was based on various competitive activities that were designed to test the knowledge of students pertaining to finance. The activity was quite interactive and engaging. The event began at 2:30 PM and continued for two hours. Assistant Professor Sanjay Sanjay and Assistant Professor Soumya V judged the rounds. 10 teams comprising of 6 students each competed with each other in different competitive activities. The first activity was based on unraveling a puzzle of jumbled pictures and logos. Each team was expected to solve the puzzle and name the brand or personality that emerged after the fragments were assembled. They then had to answer a question related to the picture and the points

Dr Rev Fr Abraham VM, Vice-Chancellor of Christ (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, addressed the entire teaching fraternity and the admin staff on 10th January 2020 at CIML. Finance Department organized a guest lecture by Shri Sanjay Agarwal, CA on 6th January 2020. Mr Sanjay Agarwal, apart from being a Chartered Accountant, is also a keen equity investor. To put it in his own words he is CA by profession but an equity investor by choice. He is based in Kolkata, where his CA firm is located. He addressed the students about matters pertaining to investment in equity. He spoke about various avenues of investment available to salaried individuals and explained why it was not prudent to keep all savings in bank fixed deposits, as the post-tax return was quite often below the level of inflation. According to him, equity is an asset class that can give a reasonably satisfactory return, as it is taxed at a lower level than debt instruments. He cautioned that equity trading for quick gain is not at all advisable as it is akin to gambling and could lead to an erosion of capital. 6th January 202 marked the advent of a new trimester / semester for all the students of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. Director & Dean Dr Fr Jossy George welcomed the Management and Economics students and PhD scholars. In a separate session he also welcomed undergraduate and Law students through a highly motivational presentation aptly entitled ` Leadershift‘. Fr Jossy began his presentation by instilling faith in everyone that as they reflect on new thoughts for 2020, they must remember that each thought is crucial as each individual present in the audience has the potential to do things in different ways. He further inspired the PGDM students, since they will leave the portals of the college and venture on their own in a professional world.
