PADMA SHRI DR YS RAJAN INSPIRES MANAGEMENT STUDENTS OF CIM

Padma Shri Dr YS Rajan, an eminent scientist, visited Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa as a key note speaker for a workshop on Nurturing NextGen School Owner by The Learners Confluence. Dr YS Rajan, till recently was Honorary Distinguished Professor ISRO / DOS, with an office at the ISRO Headquarters and also was Chairman, BOG of NITManipur. He continues to be a member of Governing Council of M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences and a few other universities. He advises The Jain University, Bangalore. He is a member of International Law Association and Member India International Centre. He is associated closely with many industry bodies like CII, IMTMA etc,He is Fellow of Indian Academy of Engineers and also Fellow of World Academy of Art & Science( WAAS). Christmas time is the time to gather as a family and celebrate. This is the much awaited season to experience joy and cheer. The entire atmosphere had a festive look. Fortune Grounds, Dasve was the venue for `Magnificat’18’; a collaborative event of Christ Institute Of Management Lavasa and Fortune Hotel, Dasve. The event began with a warm welcome of all the dignitaries, students, staff and guests by the hosts. 40 students from Department of Commerce, Christ College, Bengaluru visited Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa from 28th November to 1st December 2018 to attend a training program. INTERESTING CIMA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

On Saturday, 1st December 2018 CIMA Basketball tournament took place and it was a great success. There was a large turnout of cheerful spectators to cheer for their respective Clans. The players were immensely motivated by the loud cheer and played to the best of their ability. Five matches were held in all. Each clan was represented by a Boys' and a Girl's team respectively except for Samurais who were represented by only one boy's team. The cool balmy breeze in a winter evening didn't deter the spirit of the players. One could see them run, pass and dribble the ball all the way to the basket. The girls were equally sportive and showed amazing spirit and energy as they played for their respective clans. In Girl's final round there was a clash between Knights and Vikings. CREATIVE WRITING CONTEST AT CIM

Life at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa is quite hectic with tight schedule and guest lectures. Despite being engaged with studies CIMA clan members took out time to give vent to their creativity on Friday, 30th November for a  Creative Writing Contest. It was a sight to behold as students were sprawled all over the amphitheatre and let their imagination run wild. The topics were 'Far From The Maddening Crowd  - Life In Lavasa' and 'The Legacy I Wish To Leave Behind'. The ambience and serenity helped them to think beyond the obvious. They put on their thinking caps and expressed themselves without any inhibition. They came up with interesting facts which clearly defined and reflected their personal thoughts and feelings. The results will be declared on Wednesday, 5th December 2018.

MAGNIFICAT 2018

Magnificat 2018, Carol music Competition, began on a grand note on 1st December 2018 in the amphitheater with songs and dances. The entire ambience was electric and magical. Christ Institute of Mangement, Lavasa has a festive look with trees decorated with fairy lights, corridors decked up with stars and a general atmosphere of cheer and gaiety permeating all over. Christmas is round the corner, the festive season has begun on a cheerful note as students and faculty members are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with fun and frolic. This is the season of singing Christmas carols with joy, sharing gifts and thereby enjoying and relishing the joy of giving and receiving gifts. CRESCEDENT 3.0’ - A FOOTBALLER’S MARVEL

`Crescedent 3.0’, an open category Football tournament, began amidst loud cheer at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa football ground on 23rd November 2018 and it got over on 25th November 2018. Koustav initiated the event and welcomed everyone on behalf of CIM, Lavasa. Later Sonia and Ann took over the anchoring. It was a proud moment to announce the participation of 22 football teams from various parts of the country along with two teams from CIM. Nearly 300 players exhibited their skills on the field. It was organized under the leadership of Assistant Professor Ashish Wilson and the students who worked tirelessly for the successful execution of the tournament were Joel Nishanth J, Hari Prasad, Koustav Mukhopadhyay, Marshal Sabu, Josphin T J, Jinto Kurian and Jeet Aditya Purohit. Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa hosted Genworks Power Speaker Series in Social Sciences Block Auditorium on 24th November 2018. The theme for the session was ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship challenges in Emerging markets’.       Innovation is the key to Entrepreneurship. As an aspiring entrepreneur, if a student intends to get ahead then he or she must begin to innovate. As a future leader they need innovation, but don't have the strategies in place to get the desired results. Unlike some other business strategies, innovation does not come with a clear-cut blueprint. MARKETING CLUB ACTIVITY

The senior students of Marketing Department conducted a marketing club activity for Juniors on 16th November 2018 in the Conference Hall. It began with a quick recap of the previous event, Brandits under the leadership of Professor Benny, which was successful in a grand way. Everyone unanimously agreed that it paved way for future exciting events. True to marketing strategy it is absolutely necessary for an executive to be aware of all possible bands available in the market to cater to the demands along with whims and fancies of a customer. The students had to identify the tagline of certain companies. They were provided with the company's name. Next the students were divided into five groups consisting of one senior student from the marketing department to guide the team.
