Dr. Hiroki Sayama's arrival at Pune International Airport marked the initiation of his visit. At precisely 10:25 PM, he was warmly received and picked up by Mr. Alwin Joseph, Assistant Professor in the Department of Data Science. Tuesday, Sept 26, 2023: The early hours of the next day saw Dr. Hiroki comfortably settling into H3 202 by 2:00 AM. As the morning sun dawned, at 9:30 AM, he was escorted from H3 202 by Dr. Shahid Bashir. The event took place in the Smart Room, situated within the Management Block. The main speaker for this workshop was Mr Naived George Eapen, the Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell. The workshop aimed to introduce the participants to Twine, a narrative/game-making software used by video game designers and digital storytellers to create interactive stories in a digital format. One of the key advantages of Twine is its accessibility, allowing users with limited coding knowledge to create engaging games and interactive narratives. The workshop's primary objective was to equip faculty members with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively utilize Twine in their teaching practices. The WellMent program, organized by the Department of Languages, was an initiative aimed at fostering mental well-being practices among the faculty members of the department. The session was held at 12:30 PM in Room 2303 of the Management Block at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. Guiding the program was Ms. Arpita Ghosh, of the Center for Counseling and Health Services (CCHS). Ms. Arpita initiated the session with a meditation exercise. This mindfulness practice served as a fitting preamble, setting the tone for the impactful session that lay ahead. Following the meditation, the participants engaged in a unique and introspective activity. Each faculty member was handed a set of sticky notes, and they were encouraged to reflect on their own personalities, acknowledging both positive and negative aspects. On 9 th Sept 2023, World Suicide Prevention Day, counselors organized two activities aimed at raising awareness for suicide prevention: "Letters of Hope" and "Random Acts of Kindness." In observance of World Suicide Prevention Day, the Centre for Counselling & Health Services at our institution organized a heartfelt event that aimed not only to raise awareness about suicide prevention but also to foster a sense of empathy, support, and trust within our student community. The event consisted of two inspiring activities: " Letters of Hope " and " Random Acts of Kindness ," each contributing to a more compassionate and understanding campus atmosphere. Random Acts of Kindness To kickstart the day, the peer educators from the center distributed "Kindness Cards" to all the classes.
