On November 16, 2023, the Department of Data Science at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, Pune Campus, partnered with the Student Council to host the vibrant 'Deepotsav' Diwali Mela. The event featured a spirited rangoli-making competition and diya painting and decoration. There were multiple enthusiastic cultural performances. Adding a savoury twist, the culinary talents of students took to the stage in 'MasterChef Lavasa,' a cooking competition. The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by Tambola and Lucky Draw stalls curated by our enthusiastic students, contributing to the overall joyous celebration. Rangoli Making Competition The event started at 5:30 PM, where teams, comprised of up to three members each, showcased their festive talents in a dynamic Rangoli Making Competition. OBT Session

The outbound training for the faculty members of the Data Science Department of Christ (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus which focused on self- development and improving their teamwork, collaboration and leadership skills occurred on the dates 24-01-2024 and 25-01-2024. The venue for the training programme was The Fern Resort, Mahabaleshwar. The participants reached the venue by 1:00 PM and the first session started at 3:00 PM. Prior to the session, Dr Jibreal Jos welcomed the participants to the Outbound training programme and Dr Lija Jacob addressed the gathering, sharing the aim of the OBT and the agenda that has been planned to be covered in this OBT. Session 1 was conducted by Dr Jibreal Jos where he spoke about atomic habits. He quoted the words of Lao Tzu and elaborated on how change is constant and how it plays a pivotal role in the growth of one person. Cancer Awareness Talk and Fusion Tea Stall On the 5th of February 2024, the Center for Counselling & Health Services (CCHS) organized an insightful cancer awareness talk conducted by Mr. Darryl D'Souza. The event aimed to educate both faculty and students about the importance of early detection, proper nutrition, and overall care for the body to prevent cancer. On 16 th January, 2024 CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Pune Lavasa witnessed the launch of the pilot project titled “ Story Mapping Lavasa, A Digital Humanities Initiative ”. The event sought to bring to light the stories of Lavasa curated by the students of the Masters in English with Digital Humanities Programme, Department of Languages. The event was graced by Dr. Shobana P Mathews, Head of the Department of English and Cultural Studies, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Bangalore who joined online. The event highlighted the importance of this DH project that is an intersection of technology and humanities. Introduction: On December 15, 2023, students had a special talk from Mr. Aditya Sahai, who works as a Senior Software Developer at Pinterest. He shared his story about how he began his career by going through various job interviews. At first, he faced some challenges with tough technical questions. But, he didn't give up. Mr. Sahai used a helpful platform called Interview Kickstart to practice and boost his confidence. Eventually, he successfully cracked an interview and landed a great job. The talk was all about his journey, the struggles he faced in interviews, and how he overcame them with the help of Interview Kickstart to get a fantastic job. Introduction:   The CIMA Sports event, hosted by the School of Business and Management MBA Program, kicked off with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The competition not only showcased athletic abilities but also emphasized strategic thinking, collaboration, and determination – values deeply embedded in the ethos of the School. Day 1: Wednesday-   The inaugural day featured Volleyball and Throwball matches. Teams displayed remarkable energy and skill, setting the tone for the thrilling days ahead. Day 2: Thursday-   Thursday witnessed intense competitions in Handball, 8 Ball Pool, and Chess. Participants exhibited both physical prowess and mental acumen, contributing to the overall excitement.
