GUEST LECTURE ON TAX PLANNING

The School of Business and Management (MBA) organized a Guest Lecture on Tax Planning on 17th December 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:25 PM at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. The event started with Ravula Gowthami introducing the guest speaker, Mr Poorav Doshi. Mr Doshi is certified by ICAI in forensic accounting & fraud detection. He established his CA firm PV Doshi & Associates which provides professional services including auditing & assurance, taxation, book-keeping, and advisory Service. He is also a cyber enthusiast and has hands-on knowledge in the field of information security and ethical hacking. GUEST LECTURE ON PAVING THE WAY FOR POSITIVE CHANGE

On the 15th of December, a Guest Lecture on “Paving the way for Positive Change” was conducted via Webex from 02:00 PM to 03:05 PM at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. The virtual event “Paving for Positive Change” was organised to highlight the importance of management concepts in real-life scenarios. The Guest Speaker, Dr Anand Sharma, was invited to enlighten the students on the importance of motivation, perception, learning, personality leadership, and change management. The programme helped us gain the practical aspects related to the topic at hand. He explained the impact of change in the perception towards certain scenarios and how these changes can be viewed through a different lens to see it as a positive change. WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE’S MERCHANT OF VENICE

The Theatre Club of the Student Bar Association School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus organized a students’ performance of the Trial Scene of the William Shakespeare’s play, Merchant of Venice, Act IV. The event was conducted to bring to the students’ notice a skillful examination of the tension between law and equity. The event was scheduled to be held on 17th December 2021.  The students’ performances were conceptualized by Ms Christine Elizabeth Samuel, Dr Sunil John, and Ms Amrutha Valavi. The play was directed by Ajay Thakur, a Third Year BBA LLB student. CIMA SPORTS FEST - 2021

The School of Business and Management organized a CIMA Sports Fest from 3rd December 2021 to 9th December 2021 in CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.  Day 1 Like every year, this year too, our department has organized the CIMA sports fest with grand splendour. The host for the occasion, Shambhavi Khare, welcomed Father, Director, Jossy P George, Academic Coordinator, MBA, Father Arun Antony, Dr Becky M Thomas, HoD, MBA, the faculty members and the students with utmost enthusiasm. Father Director addressed the students and made them aware of the importance of extracurricular activities. The first sports event to be held was - badminton. It started with a match between Knights and Samurais, followed by Vikings and Spartans. The next two matches were between Vikings and Spartans, and then Saprtants vs Samurais. The School of Commerce, Finance, and Accountancy organized a symposium on Fintech: India Perspective & 3F: Future Fintech Framework on 17th December 2021 in CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. The session comprised around 100 participants and commenced with a one-minute prayer. Soon, Ms Soumya Singh, the emcee of the event took over and went on to hand over the mike to Dr Vandana Bhagat, the head of the department, school of commerce, Finance & accountancy, who bestowed the welcome address. RESEARCH WORKSHOP ON “DECODING RESEARCH PROBLEMS EFFECTIVELY TO ATTAIN BEST OUTCOMES”

The School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa, campus conducted a research workshop on 1st September 2020 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 pm titled “Decoding Research Problems effectively to attain the best outcomes”. The workshop was hosted by Mr Vivek Joshi who has been a corporate research analyst for over 10 years. He started off the session by discussing the importance of research and how it is more than just an “accumulation of fact”. About the Workshop In management research, theory development and theory testing are widely used practices. Methodologists have developed structural equation modeling techniques by integrating the features of multiple regression and factor analysis. Theory testing or theory confirmation is the process of testing the proposed theoretical model with the data. In SEM the model fit values are used as a criterion to assess the fit of the data with the theoretical model. In the recent literature, in most of the cases, researchers have used a structural equation modeling approach to test their theories. BIOCREST - NATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY

BIOCREST was an event designed to raise awareness among the students as well as faculty about the National Energy Conservation Day. The event was held on an aforementioned Day on 14th December 2021 organized by the School of Commerce, Finance & Accountancy (BCom) and School of Business & Management (BBA) in CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.  The event consisted of two phases: In the first phase, interested parties were asked to send in a proposal that would help reduce the consumption of energy and help usher in a greener future. Five teams were then shortlisted for the second phase where they had to present their proposals to a panel of five judges (one judge from each of the Departments of the Pune Lavasa Campus). The presentations took place in the Central Block of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus in a hybrid model; students attended the event both offline and via the online platform Zoom. Interested students were also given the opport
