Marathonomics , a university-wide event held on October 3rd, 5th, and 7th, 2023, was a resounding success, orchestrated by the dedicated event coordinators under the expert guidance of Prof. Avichal Sharma and Dr. Tiny S Palathara. This three-day extravaganza aimed to demystify the fundamentals of economics and make them accessible to all students, providing practical insights into real-world applications of economic principles. With a blend of interactions, engaging activities, and exciting competitions, Marathonomics promised and delivered a day of learning, networking, and fun, becoming a gateway for understanding the importance and implementation of economics in our lives, in line with its theme and aim of "Whenever, Wherever - Economics." On September 9th, 2023, a workshop titled "Technical and Creative Writing" was organized by the Department of Languages in collaboration with the Department of Commerce for students. The workshop was led by Mr. Rajib Borkataki, Head of Content Services at Cybage Software, Pune, who boasts over 20 years of experience in various IT industry roles at organizations like Avaya India, Siemens PLM Software, Persistent Systems, Syntel, and C-DAC. Day 1: On 3rd May 2023, the Director and Dean of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Pune Lavasa Campus, Fr Lijo Thomas inaugurated the first Quality Improvement Programme organized by the Department of Languages. The session began with a silent prayer, setting a solemn and focused atmosphere. Designed with key objectives in mind, this event aims to acquaint scholars with university policies, program structure, and research expectations. A diverse set of components, including welcome addresses, informational sessions, and meet-and-greet opportunities, contribute to a comprehensive introduction. Orientation cum Bridge Course

The orientation programme for the academic year 2023 was inaugurated on August 10, 2023 at 10 AM. The inaugural ceremony ‘23, titled ‘Ignite’ of the MA English with Digital Humanities Students from Department of Languages was organised in collaboration with the School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy along with the Department of Data Science. The inaugural address was delivered by the Dean and Director, Dr. Fr. Lijo Thomas followed by the address of the Head of Department. Fr. Justin Varghese, the Academic Coordinator addressed the students after the inaugural ceremony on “CMI: Ethos of CHRIST, Philosophy of Holistic Education & Graduate Attributes”. followed by lunch. Webinar on ‘Videogame Critique and Appreciation’

The Department of Languages conducted a webinar on ‘Videogame Critique and Appreciation’ on the 25th of February 2023 at 2 PM via the Zoom online platform. The session was rendered by Mr Aaron George, a faculty member of the Department of Languages and a researcher on the topic. The webinar was part one of a planned series on videogame critique and was open to students and faculty from both within and without CHRIST University. A total of 30 participants attended the event. The participants were a mix of faculty, students and PhD scholars who were interested in the topic. The session began at 2 PM and went on till 3:30 PM. Prof. Aaron began the session by outlining the history of video games and how the industry has become what it is today. The session took a look at the very first video games ever made and how they were initially digital recreations of already existing games. Rapidly developing technology allowed for more sophisticated games to be made, taking advantage of the more ad
