Dr Fr George Edayadiyil thanked Fr Jossy for his kind words. He rightly said that CHRIST University is the center of learning, service and the mission is to carry forward the rich legacy as each faculty member is an integral part of the college. He observed that the enchanting Lavasa campus has the right conducive atmosphere for learning and can be developed as a future research hub. The inclusive mission is for the staff to play a vital role in shaping the future destiny of CHRIST, Lavasa. He narrated some personal anecdotes to drive across the point.

He expressed his appreciation of the noble yet challenging role of a teacher. The commitment of a teacher will take the legacy forward as the college is primarily for students and research scholars. Their sole aim ought to be to serve the community of seekers of knowledge and wisdom.

He specially congratulated the untiring efforts of Director & Dean, Dr Fr Jossy P George and Academic Coordinator, Dr Fr Arun Antony for relentlessly working hard to materialize his dream.

Dr Fr George welcomed and motivated the new staff members to put in their best in this noble mission of imparting education. They ought to take inspiration from the life and spirit of Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the Founder of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate and the pioneer in innovative education, whose life is an exemplary example of dedication to the socio-cultural development of a society. He was instrumental in forming the base of an educational society and inspired everyone with his mission of excellence. The Chancellor motivated teachers to be an agent of change in an era which is ever changing and challenging at a constant pace with the passage of time.

Dr Rev Fr George Edayadiyil, the Chancellor and the Rector of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore urged everyone to be the change and create a better world of peace and harmony which is constantly interpreted and updated. According to him the teachers are creatively responsible for choosing wisely between rigidity and flexibility. Adaptability is the need of the hour and they have to constantly move forward with grit and determination and not be static or complacent. The change from within will in turn inspire the students and other fellow teachers.  The sense of awareness about vision, mission and values will pave the way for the future. The onus is now on the teachers who will forge ahead with core values of CHRIST University and make an effective contribution to the society or humanity at large. Dr Fr George Edayadiyil inspired the teachers and believe that the motto of Excellence and Service should be upheld diligently and the collective effort of all teachers will lead CHRIST, Lavasa to a bright future.

He asserted that it is necessary to have a sense of social consciousness and discipline and do justice to the motto. In doing so inculcate it in the students, who are being trained for life. The students ought to be inspired to move forward with a vision and mission in a dynamic environment. Dr Fr George encouraged the teachers to realize their potential, refine their skills and set a benchmark for future. He was highly impressed by the untiring efforts of both Fr Jossy and Fr Arun in successfully maintaining unity in diversity and upholding the unity of CHRIST fraternity.
