Best Manager Award And More Won By CIML Students

It is a matter of great pride and honours that MBA students of Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa participated in `Symplulse, a BFest organized by Symbiosis Centre For Management Studies (SCMS), Pune and won many awards. They brought laurels to CHRIST by winning many contests. It was a proud moment for the contestants to surpass participants from over 60 colleges from Pune, Mumbai and the rest of India.

Sympulse 2020 was a national level fest, organized from 15th to 17th January 2020. Utsavi Bhatia was prepared from the beginning and the preparation began when she gave virtual online tasks which were given at 11:00 PM and had to be submitted by 2:00 AM. She feels overwhelmed after competing for the Best Manager Competition. The event incorporated an in-depth analysis of a case study followed by situational analysis. It moved on to budget formation rounds, operation activities and presentation formation. The first elimination round saw just 7 being selected out of 47 teams.

The subsequent rounds for Utsavi were interesting when the contestants formed teams, made slideshows and were given a daunting task to convince people and get bands tied on their wrist. It primarily tested their convincing skills. The event further incorporated other challenging tasks such as add making, recruitment process and come up with a plausible business plan. There were multiple rounds to test her communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. To prove herself Utsavi had to impress the judges by her time management and exhibit an attitude to take a challenge and deal with it in the right spirit.

Utsavi believes in herself and with an attitude for perseverance retained the smile on her face and stood second in the Best Manager Contest. She was constantly motivated and cheered by Mr Aditya Jhunjhunwala from IIM Ahmedabad and Yaash Canvat, a celebrity. These students have brought glory to the college by their untiring efforts to win the contest and proved that well begun is half done and success can be achieved if they are persistent and disciplined.

The overall result is as follows:
  • Utsavi Bhatia - 2nd Prize - Best Manager Contest
  • Hashin Rahees - 2nd Prize - Corporate Strategy Contest
