CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa always makes efforts to reach out to everyone and maintain contact despite time and distance. The young MBA enthusiasts took the initiative to give a warm farewell to the outgoing batch of management students and organized an online get together on Saturday, 23rd May 2020 through WebEx. A day before the college closed in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the final year PGDM students had got a sendoff and this meeting was an extension of the same.

The farewell was a bit different from the routine as the MBA students threw a virtual party with real people and soon everyone was together and no longer bound by their respective geographical locations. Nearly everyone experimented a bit with camera placement.

Director & Dean, Dr Fr Jossy George was highly impressed by the initiative and conveyed his best wishes to the outgoing batch. He congratulated the entire batch for their great achievements and creating beautiful memories. He is confident that the students are prepared to face any challenge in future. He thanked them profusely for sharing positive feedback about the college which resulted in a lot of admissions this year.

Fr Jossy assured them of full-fledged support for placements. He comforted them and advised them not to be apprehensive about any unforeseen delay in placements. He also added that graduation certificates will be issued and hopes to see them on the campus. Fr Jossy concluded by wishing that each student upholds the vision and mission of CHRIST as they venture into the world as a professional.

Academic Coordinator, Dr Fr Arun Antony was equally delighted to be a part of the event. He expressed his views in a matter of fact way and encouraged them to learn from the current scenario as the world is going to be a 'new normal'. He further motivated them to learn significant lessons from this experience.

Fr Arun addressed the fresh graduates who are at the beginning of their career and have witnessed a global challenge. He motivated them to be well prepared for a bright and successful future. He further added that learning is a lifelong process and wished them all the best.

Head of Academics, Dr Binu Paul congratulated the graduates and reassured that the college will support them in every possible way to get an interview or placement offer. He was optimistic about their bright future and congratulated them for being first in many ways. He wished them all the best and hopes to meet them more often.

The interactive quiz was enthusiastically enjoyed by everyone. Annabel and Shruti Rastogi sang a melodious song and everyone wished Alvin Joe on his birthday. The teacher’s pet award was given to Shobhith Jimmy and the comedian’s prize was bagged by Anish J Abraham. Artist of the batch award was given to Bhavishya Sajith and Yadukrishnan, Akhil Laul was adjudged as the student with maximum attendance. Esther was declared as the singer of the year. Some more interesting awards were also given.

The entire effort to reach out to students who are quarantined at home in different parts of the country was commendable. It helped management students connect, rekindle fond memories, share them and in the process make more memorable memories.

It was indeed a fun filled evening and many attendees took part in interactive online activities. The program was coordinated by Christy Yesudas, Jeremiah P, Rhea Job and Stuti Tudu and anchored by Utsavi Bhatia.
