FETE DE LA NOMOS 2020

THE MEDIATION-NEGOTIATION COMPETITION
(August 26, 2020- August 31, 2020)

The Students’ Bar Association of the School of Law, Christ (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus virtually organized a Mediation-Negotiation competition on a National level under the flagship of Fete de la Nomos, from August 26th, 2020 to August 31st, 2020. Ritika Kohli, Neelangshu Bagchi and Reonia Mathew drafted the med-neg case and lead the event along with the other students under the guidance of Ms. Mehak Vohra supported by Ms. Amrutha Valavi and Dr. Sunil John. The Negotiation and Mediation Problems was vetted by Adv. Swati Jain, Khaitan& Co. and Adv. Gokul, Asian CyberLaw. 24 teams participated from 22 different esteemed law colleges in India. Cash prizes were declared under the heads - Best Team, Best Mediator, Best Mediating Pair, Runners-up Mediator and Runners-up Mediating Pair. Certificate of Accomplishment were given to Finalist, Semi- Finalists, Quarter Finalists. Every participant was given a Certificate of Participation. A consolidated sum of Rs. 20500/- was awarded as the cash prizes to the participants in the final round.

The schedule of event was as follows: 

1. Preliminary Round 1: 26th August, 2020

2. Preliminary Round 2: 27th August, 2020

3. Preliminary Round 3: 28th August, 2020

4. Quarter Final Round: 29th August, 2020

5. Semi-Finals and Finals: 31st August, 2020

The rounds were judged by eminent legal personalities whose expertise is laid in Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism in India. The judges were:

Winners for the Mediation- Negotiation Competition

Army Institute of Law, Mohali and NALSAR, Hyderabad qualified for the finals round and both the teams performed exceptionally well and received insightful and encouraging comments and suggestions from our eminent judges. Participants from Army Law School were able to grab the prizes of Best Mediating Team as a whole along with Best Mediator. Best Mediating Pair was awarded to the participants from NALSAR.

The competition was a successful event due to the precious efforts under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Daisy Alexander the HOD along with the Faculty and students. The execution of the event was appreciated by teams from all over India along with the judges who managed to contribute their time and efforts for the National Event.
