Timeless Management Principles of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

On the special occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, a special webinar was organized by The School of Business Management, Christ (Deemed to Be) University, Lavasa. All the faculties and students were very engaging throughout the entire session.

The guest of honour for the occasion was Mr Shivaprasad Mantri – Mechanical engineer, former vice president of TATA Auto Comp, CEO TATA TOYO Radiator Co and former vice president at VIT Institutes Pune. Career and Business Coach, Trainer - Students, Family businesses and business leaders. Being a history enthusiast sir has worked with Late Ninad Bedekar and has co-authored best seller “Timeless Management Principles Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj & Bajirao Peshwe” in Marathi over 51,000 copies sold.

The session commenced at 3:00pm with Dr Jayant Mahajan inaugurating the session. Following this, Father Jossy took over and extended his greeting to Mr Mantri and addressed the students with some insightful details about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his works that would benefit the students by enabling them to inculcate a few of his teachings and skills in their lessons. Amit Mogaveera, a student of Final Year MBA – Finance, gave an introduction speech that included introducing the guest speaker and invited him to start the session. 

Mr Mantri started the session by introducing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Mr Mantri then gave the audience a much deeper insight into Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by stating his leadership qualities and how he was known for being a very hard-working and strategic leader during his time of reign. Mr Mantri specified how he was a great strategist and is still a great learning for management during the present time and also how it is important for students to understand and carry out his works that will help them in their organizational roles in the future. Mr Mantri discussed a Case story of Pratapgarh 1659. The comparison between Afzalkhan and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was interesting in many ways. The comparison details that physical attributes are not the major attribute to win any battle, on the contrary, the smart strategy and strategic plans along with the execution are the key attributes for any win. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj being the great strategist of all times, his final decision was one of the great lessons to be learnt from his journey. And students should always carry that as a lesson to be learned in all their upcoming years of contribution towards this society just like he did in his time. Sir enlightened us about how the leadership style of Shivaji Maharaj was a great lesson for imbibing the leadership qualities in our behaviour and motivated us to be as courageous and active as Shivaji Maharaj.

The floor was then open for questions. Mr Mantri was gracious enough to answer all the questions from students and faculty members. The session was very enlightening and interesting and we are certain that the students had a bundle of insightful information to take back along with them. 

The session was concluded by Ms Akansha Rawat, a student of Final Year MBA - Finance by thanking Mr Mantri for his time and insight.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON LEADERSHIP & ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT SKILLS

The Third International Conference on Data Science, Computation and Security (IDSCS-22) hosted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus in association with Springer from 11th to 12th February 2022. The conference was conducted online with participants from all across the globe. The conference commenced with the inauguration ceremony at 9:30 AM.
