5 Days International Faculty Development Program
The School of Business and Management – MBA, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus successfully organized a 5-Day International Faculty Development Program (FDP) from 19 May 2025 to 23 May 2025. The central theme of the FDP, “Quality, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship: A Strategic Framework for Management Education,” served as a foundation for insightful deliberations and knowledge-sharing sessions. The objective of the program was to address the growing need to realign academic practices with the dynamic demands of the industry, thus promoting excellence, relevance, and innovation in management education.
The program commenced on Day 1 with a formal inauguration ceremony, which was graced by the presence of faculty members, dignitaries, and academic leaders. The inaugural day set the tone for the week with an engaging session led by Fr. Justin, Academic Coordinator at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, and Ms. Michelle Pinto, a well-known facilitator in leadership development. Their session, “What Industry Expects from B-School Graduates,” provided a valuable perspective on the gap between classroom learning and real-world business practices. The speakers emphasized the importance of experiential learning, critical thinking, and adaptability in preparing students for industry readiness.
Day 2 focused on innovative pedagogical practices .Dr. Nisha Shankar, from the CHRIST University Central Campus, conducted two dynamic sessions on “Innovation in Pedagogy and Digital Integration.” These sessions highlighted the integration of modern digital tools and teaching techniques to create more interactive and inclusive learning environments. She shared best practices in educational technology, flipped classrooms, and blended learning, encouraging faculty members to adopt more student-centric approaches in their teaching strategies.
On Day 3, the FDP pivoted toward nurturing entrepreneurial thinking among faculty and students. Prof. Gururaj Dangare, a renowned startup mentor and educator, led a session on “Building an Entrepreneurship-Oriented Curriculum.” His talk was particularly insightful as he elaborated on ways educators can mentor student-led ventures, promote innovation, and build campus-based incubation centers. He stressed the need for academic institutions to foster a startup mindset and integrate entrepreneurship deeply into the curriculum.
Day 4 featured a virtual session by Dr. Majo George, Dean, Faculty of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, Vietnam. His session on “Strategic Thinking and Change Management in Corporates” delivered practical strategies that educators can impart to future business leaders. He emphasized cultivating resilience, foresight, and agility to deal with constant organizational changes.The final day, Day 5, presented two thought-provoking sessions. Dr. Jibrael Jose discussed “The Future of Management Education: An Industry Perspective,” exploring how education must evolve in the age of artificial intelligence and digital transformation. Following this, Dr. Kabaly P Subramanian, Dean, Arab Open University, Oman, delivered a compelling session on “Strategic Leadership and Institutional Governance Skills,” aimed at strengthening academic leadership and policy planning.The program concluded with a valedictory session where Prof. Anil D’Souza shared closing remarks and participants reflected on their learnings. The FDP proved to be an enriching experience, equipping faculty members with transformative ideas, teaching methodologies, and leadership insights to elevate the quality and relevance of management education.
