CHRIST, Lavasa Given Best Upcoming University In Maharashtra 2019 Award

It is a matter of great pride and honour that CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa has been selected as the Best Upcoming University in Maharashtra 2019 by Centre for Education Growth and Research (CEGR) Jury Committee. Along with this prestigious award, Visionary Leader of the Year 2019 Award was conferred upon Director & Dean, Dr Fr Jossy P George. The esteemed awards were presented in the presence of an august gathering on Friday, 23rd August 2019 at Hyatt, Kalyani Nagar, Pune during 5th Higher Education Summit of CEGR.
Fr Jossy felt elated to receive the award. Fr Jossy thanked the entire CHRIST fraternity for their wholehearted cooperation. He also expressed his deep gratitude to the cooperative stakeholders, enthusiastic students, diligent non-teaching staff and everyone associated with the university.

Dr (Fr) Jossy P George is a member of the religious congregation of Catholic priests called Carmelites if Mary Immaculate (CMI). Dr Fr Jossy P George has dual Master degree in Computer Science and Human Resources from USA, MCA and has done his FDPM from IIM, Ahmedabad. He has been awarded a Doctorate in Computer Science by Christ University, Bengaluru on Image Processing titled “Development of Efficient Biometric Recognition Algorithms Based on Fingerprint and Face”. He is a member of International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology (IACSIT) and Computer Society of India (CSI). He has also done M Phil and PhD.

His research activities focus on algorithms for improved accuracy in biometrics. Also, he has done a Major Research on “Technology in Higher Education”. He has published many papers both in National and International Journals. He has been working with Christ University (previously Christ College), Bengaluru, India and other associated institutions since 2002 in various capacities and is currently serving as Director & Dean, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, Pune.
 Dr Fr Jossy George was congratulated by Prof Anil D. Sahsrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, Prof. K. K. Aggarwal, Chairman, National Board of Accreditation, Prof. A. P. Mittal, President, CEGR and Member Secretary, AICTE, Prof. Rajive Kumar, Adviser (Policy and Academic), AICTE, Dr. Ramesh Unnikrishan, Director, AICTE, Dr. C. S. Verma, Regional Officer, AICTE and many more dignitaries who were present on this momentous moment.

Mr Ravish Roshan, Director, Centre for Education Growth and Research conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to Director, Fr Jossy and wished him many more laurels in the years to come. Fr Jossy George was accompanied by CRM, JK Pandey.

The Third International Conference on Data Science, Computation and Security (IDSCS-22) hosted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus in association with Springer from 11th to 12th February 2022. The conference was conducted online with participants from all across the globe. The conference commenced with the inauguration ceremony at 9:30 AM.
