There was a corporate talk on "Motivating Young Minds" for BBA students on 24th August 2019 by Mr Pratyush Nandkeolyar, Director, Talent Acquisition, Druva, Pune in Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa.

Mr Pratyush Nandkeolyar, Director and Head Talent Acquisition at Druva, Pune, is a social media manager, public speaker, recruiter and Director, Recruitment at Druva. His interest ranges from recruiting to operation, business setup and innovation. He also takes keen interest in talent mapping, technology and music. As a self-motivated, self-driven with a proven track record in ramping up businesses, creating and optimizing process Mr Pratyush has achieved success within a short span. His talent hunt journey includes multi-geographical and multi-lingual hiring, creating a consistent recruiting process in a global environment. He led India, UK, US and APAC staffing team. He has rich experience in Global Recruiting as the Head of Global Recruitment in eminent companies.

Mr Pratyush briefed the students about ways to connect with people in particular and be well-informed about the latest trend in market including understanding marketing psyche. He pointed out categorically that the need of the hour is to deliver what the industry needs. He spoke about cloud transfer of data, Skype etc. He emphasized monetary transaction through TransferWise, which transfers money locally, once currency has been exchanged, to the person to whom money was aired by an individual. As against credit card or bank transaction fees, TransferWise saves money by taking a small percentage of the transaction.

He also pointed out that reading a lot can be quite beneficial because during recruitment the company needs derivable to employ a prospective candidate. Bookish knowledge may give an edge to a candidate over others but an in-depth knowledge about current trend in the market may eventually benefit a candidate. He touched upon the strategy used by a company to hire a candidate.

He also referred to disruption in the world on various issues and expressed his concern. He gave real examples from diverse fields and rightly pointed out that some disruptions affect a company such as humans being replaced by robots in Tesla, latest trend of automated cars in US, Uber making use of optimum time and route from starting point to destination, `Renttherunway’ etc. to drive across his point of view. Mr Pratyush remarked that the present generation cannot be termed as strugglers despite a trend of job hopping.

He advised the young students to always remember that a lot of learning takes place when one grows with the organization. Disruptions are inevitable, they may be road blocks but one has to learn to find strategies to come out of it for the welfare of an organization and personal growth.

This informative corporate talk was immensely useful as it covered a lot of subjects and the students listened to Mr Pratyush in rapt attention. He was later interviewed by a BBA student, Nikhil B Mohan. The talk was organized by Assistant Professor, John Yesudas Valluri in coordination with CRM, JK Pandey.
