Inauguration of CSA



CSA (Centre for Social Action) was inaugurated on 22nd August 2019 in the Auditorium, Central Block, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. It was attended by all undergraduate and post graduate students along with their teachers.
CHRIST, Lavasa has always propagated the cause of social welfare and has encouraged students and teaching fraternity to work for the upliftment of society.
Director & Dean, Dr Fr Jossy George spoke about the need to be humane and inspired the students to work in close coordination with each other for the betterment of society at large. He further asserted that CSA and its activities can bring about a change in society. As a Christite each student can help the society in his or her individual capacity and every student must take this opportunity and contribute in the best possible way.


Assistant Professor Phinu Mary Jose, Director, CSA, CHRIST, Bengaluru explained the concept of CSA. It was mentioned that the vision of CSA is to make every student become aware, be sensitive and empathetic and contribute to sustainable changes in the society. The main mission behind this venture is to promote volunteerism and facilitate holistic development of students by involving them in service-led activities which incorporate social service. Some of the activities discussed in the program were Drishti and Parivarthana. It is expected that this student oriented social work concept will be able to accomplish its mission in this session.
The program was coordinated by Assistant Professor Ginish Cheruparambil from Department of Commerce and Management on behalf of CHRIST, Lavasa.
