THE BUDDY BUZZ – Where Friendship Stories Begin On 19th August 2025, the Auditorium at the Management Block of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, came alive with laughter, cheer, and a spirit of togetherness as the first-year BBA students gathered for The Buddy Buzz. This vibrant cultural event, organised by the Christ University School of Business and Management Association (CUSBMA), was specially curated as an ice-breaking session through cultural activities , coinciding with the celebration of Friendship Day. On August 12th, 2024, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Pune Lavasa Campus launched its Antiragging Awareness Week, a significant initiative organized by the Centre for Counselling & Health Services. This week-long event, lasting until August 18th, 2024, is dedicated to educating and sensitizing the student community about the severe consequences of ragging. A series of activities were meticulously planned and executed across various departments and blocks of the campus to ensure maximum outreach and impact. The week began with Oath Administration across all departments. Faculty members, students, and administrative staff participated in this solemn ceremony, where they collectively pledged to uphold the values of respect and dignity within the campus community. WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY

Every year, on 19th August, the world comes together to commemorate World Humanitarian Day — a day dedicated to remembering humanitarian workers who put themselves at risk to help others, and to recognize the urgent needs of vulnerable communities around the globe. Observed in memory of the 2003 bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad, which took the lives of 22 humanitarian staff, the day is now a global call to honour the courage, compassion, and sacrifice of those who serve in the world’s most difficult circumstances. In line with this global tradition, the Centre for Counselling and Health Services (CCHS) at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, hosted an online observance of World Humanitarian Day on 19th August 2025. International Guest Visit: Dr. Gowribalan Ananda (Ana) Vamadeva

On 4th August 2025, Professor Ana visited the Pune City Campus, where he was picked up from his hotel around 12:00 P.M.. He delivered a guest lecture on Calculus and Beyond from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M., followed by lunch and an interaction with faculty. He departed for his hotel at 3:00 P.M. The faculty in-charge for this visit was Dr. Libin Chacko. On 5th August 2025, Professor Ana visited the Lavasa Campus, arriving at 10:30 A.M. where he was welcomed by PRO Mr. Javed Khan, followed by greetings from Professor Nikita, Dr. Prabhpreet Singh, and Ms. Archita. A meeting with Fr. Lijo Thomas was held, where they discussed collaboration opportunities with the University of Cincinnati, including the visiting of Emeritus Professors and promoting International Staff Week to initiate exchange programs. The session was organised to provide support during the critical transition into university life, a stage that brings with it excitement, hope, and curiosity, but also uncertainty, adjustment challenges, and emotional strain. With the theme “Change – The Pathway to Growth and Transformation,” the session aimed to guide students in embracing change as a stepping stone towards resilience and personal development. The Centre for Counselling and Health Services (CCHS) conducted an engaging and thought-provoking session titled “Taboo Talks” for the newly admitted BBA students, aimed at creating awareness, initiating open dialogue, and offering guidance on issues often considered sensitive yet highly relevant to young adults stepping into the new chapter of college life. The sessions were conducted separately for all departments to ensure that every student had the opportunity to participate in a safe and inclusive space. The School of Business and Management and the School of Humanities and Performing Arts organised the inaugural ceremony for the first-year students titled Prarambh 2025-26 on August 12, 2025. Held in the university auditorium, the event marked the formal beginning of the academic journey for the incoming cohort. The programme was thoughtfully curated to offer students a blend of tradition, academic insight, and motivation. The day commenced at 9:00 AM with students assembling in the auditorium. Academic Excellence QIP Equips BBA Faculty for Next-Level Teaching, Research, and Consultancy

The School of Business and Management (BBA), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, successfully organised a seven-day Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) on Academic Excellence from 1st to 7th August 2025. Designed for BBA faculty, the programme featured twenty-eight sessions combining expert lectures and hands-on workshops to strengthen teaching, research, consultancy, and quality assurance practices. Day 1 opened with Dr. Nikhil Varghese, Head of the School of Business and Management (BBA), leading two sessions on Academic Responsibilities and Code of Conduct. He provided an overview of the Indian Patent Agent Examination, explaining that it is conducted by the Indian Patent Office (IPO) to evaluate candidates’ understanding of the Indian Patents Act, 1970, its associated rules, and their ability to draft and prosecute patents.
