Awareness Session

On August 12th, 2024, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Pune Lavasa Campus launched its Antiragging Awareness Week, a significant initiative organized by the Centre for Counselling & Health Services. This week-long event, lasting until August 18th, 2024, is dedicated to educating and sensitizing the student community about the severe consequences of ragging. A series of activities were meticulously planned and executed across various departments and blocks of the campus to ensure maximum outreach and impact.

The week began with Oath Administration across all departments. Faculty members, students, and administrative staff participated in this solemn ceremony, where they collectively pledged to uphold the values of respect and dignity within the campus community. The oath was a powerful reminder of the university’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and emphasized the responsibility of each individual in maintaining a safe and supportive environment. This activity set the tone for the week, underscoring the collective commitment of the university to eradicating any form of ragging.

In addition to the Oath Administration, anti-ragging posters were strategically placed in both blocks of the campus. These posters served as visual reinforcements of the university’s stance against ragging and provided important information on the consequences of engaging in such activities. The posters were designed to be impactful, featuring bold messages and graphics that captured attention and conveyed the seriousness of the issue. By placing these posters in high-traffic areas, the campaign ensured that the message reached every student and staff member, creating a pervasive sense of awareness throughout the campus.

Educational videos on anti-ragging were shown to students. These videos, carefully selected for their informative content and engaging presentation, highlighted the legal, social, and ethical aspects of ragging. They included testimonials from victims, insights from experts, and dramatizations of potential ragging scenarios. The videos served as a powerful tool in reinforcing the messages conveyed throughout the week, leaving a lasting impression on the students.

Conclusion:

Through the integration of multiple elements—an informative talk, impactful video, poster campaigns, and digital outreach—the event not only disseminated knowledge but also sought to instill lasting values. By aligning awareness with action, CCHS reinforced the University’s zero-tolerance stance on ragging and empowered students to act as custodians of respect and inclusivity. Ultimately, the program underscored that true academic and personal growth is possible only when students feel secure, valued, and free to express themselves without fear.
