The Buddy Buzz
On 19th August 2025, the Auditorium at the Management Block of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, came alive with laughter, cheer, and a spirit of togetherness as the first-year BBA students gathered for The Buddy Buzz. This vibrant cultural event, organised by the Christ University School of Business and Management Association (CUSBMA), was specially curated as an ice-breaking session through cultural activities, coinciding with the celebration of Friendship Day.
Friendship has always been the heartbeat of student life, and The Buddy Buzz was designed with a clear purpose—to provide a platform for first-year students to express their creativity, showcase their hidden talents, and most importantly, connect with their peers in an informal, welcoming space. Unlike a traditional orientation program, the event unfolded as a lively celebration of friendship, fun, and shared experiences, setting the tone for the new academic journey.
The evening began with excitement as students entered the auditorium dressed in colorful and cheerful outfits, perfectly complementing the theme of new beginnings. The program opened with a warm welcome note, urging students to let go of their inhibitions and embrace the spirit of camaraderie. From the very start, the atmosphere was light-hearted, fun, and inclusive—ensuring that every participant felt at ease.
One of the most heartwarming aspects of the evening was the way students connected over small yet meaningful interactions. Amidst the hustle of starting college life and the pressures of academics, The Buddy Buzz reminded everyone that friendships are what make the journey memorable. The tagline, “Where the friendship stories begin”, truly came alive, as many students shared how the event helped them find their “first circle” of friends in college.
The dress code, “something colorful and cheerful”, amplified the festive mood of the program. Splashes of vibrant colors across the auditorium reflected the diversity of personalities, symbolizing fresh beginnings and the promise of countless shared memories ahead.
By the end of the evening, the smiling faces and lively conversations were proof that the event had achieved its goal. The Buddy Buzz was not just an ice-breaking session, but the foundation of friendships that would grow stronger in the months and years to come. The playful “pro tip” in the invitation—“Bring your brightest smile, you might just meet your next best friend here”—turned out to be prophetic, as many students indeed walked away with new companions by their side.
