CAREER OPTIONS IN SHARED SERVICES INDUSTRY

There was a `Corporate Talk’ on Saturday, 18th August 2018 in the Conference Hall by Mr. Srinivasan Vijayapuram, Director, Global Process Lead, Citi Bank India Ltd. Mr. Srinivasan gave valuable inputs regarding Career Options in Shared Services Industry. He also focused on leadership challenges being faced by the present generation.




Mr Srinivasan Vijayapuram is a CPA from US, holds Management Diploma from IMT, Gaziabad, and is a Post Graduate in Commerce & Accountancy from Madras University.  He is a finance professional with over 25 years of work experience with Major US based banks namely American Express and Citi Bank. Mr. Srinivasan has rich experience in a variety of finance related functions such as controllers, assets backed securitization, financial control, global reporting, reengineering and six sigma. Having been part of the Shared Services and Knowledge Processing Organization right from its nascent stages, Mr. Srinivasan is well versed with the complexities pertaining to people, process and technology in relation to an industry.




The talk focused on keeping oneself well-informed about the changing scenario in the financial sector. The graduates were informed that Shared Services offers a plethora of opportunities to young professionals and being a part of an organization from the beginning can boost the career of a promising Christie. Mr Srinivasan did not rule out the relevance of knowledge but one should make optimum use of shared services. The graduates were given erudite information about a BPO industry. He further added that it is imperative to maintain a shareholder’s value while keeping in mind the important aspects related to cost. He articulated that BPO industry in India offers excellent services and is consistently growing.


Then Mr Srinivasan focused on the future of workforce. He was highly impressed by the Mission and Vision of Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa and read it out specially. The job prospects of a data analyst is the need of the hour and CIM graduates have a bright future in this field. The financial analysis will radically influence every single organization.


Mr Srinivasan gave real time example of Amazon and emphasized on value addition so that some rudimentary jobs can be orbited. Furthermore, he added that digital banking is the most promising feature of an industry and it will definitely broaden the horizons. The interactive sessions were interspersed with his corporate talk and it was a great learning experience for everyone.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON LEADERSHIP & ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT SKILLS

The Third International Conference on Data Science, Computation and Security (IDSCS-22) hosted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus in association with Springer from 11th to 12th February 2022. The conference was conducted online with participants from all across the globe. The conference commenced with the inauguration ceremony at 9:30 AM.
