GARBA NIGHT

On the evening of Saturday, October 4, 2025, the CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Pune Lavasa Campus was transformed into a vibrant hub of cultural celebration for the much-anticipated "Garba Night 2025." This festival celebration  was organised with meticulous planning and enthusiasm by the BBA Insights Newscast Committee (BINC) under the aegis of the School of Business and Management-BBA. This cultural event was a resounding success, bringing together the entire campus community of students, faculty, and staff for an unforgettable evening of music, dance, and fellowship. The event was held at the expansive Football Ground adjacent to the Management Block, commencing at 6:00 PM, and beautifully captured the festive spirit of Navratri. It celebrated cultural diversity by bringing together students from various backgrounds to participate in the vibrant festivities, reinforcing the occasion as a cherished annual tradition.

The conceptualisation of Garba Night 2025 was rooted in a clear need analysis that identified a strong desire within the campus community for interactive and culturally rich events. As a cornerstone of Navratri celebrations, Garba represents more than just a dance; it is an expression of devotion, joy, and togetherness. The organising committee recognised that students eagerly look forward to this event as an opportunity to connect with their cultural heritage and take a well-deserved break from their academic routines. The proposal was built on feedback that consistently highlighted an enthusiasm for events that not only provide entertainment but also showcase the vibrant diversity of the student body. Therefore, Garba Night was strategically planned to meet this demand, aiming to foster a stronger sense of belonging and community spirit. It was designed to be an inclusive space where individuals from all backgrounds could come together to celebrate, express themselves, and forge connections beyond the confines of classrooms and offices.

The evening commenced at 6:30 PM with a captivating dance performance, which set a graceful and energetic tone for the night. By 7:00 PM, the DJ took over the console, playing a dynamic mix of traditional Garba tunes and contemporary beats. Students, faculty, and staff enthusiastically joined in, forming concentric circles and dancing in groups, pairs, and individually, moving in synchrony to the rhythm. The sight of participants spinning, clapping, and twirling in unison created a vibrant, electrifying atmosphere, reflecting the festive spirit of Navratri. The celebration also highlighted cultural diversity, as individuals from various backgrounds came together, dressed in colourful traditional attire, to experience and contribute to the communal joy.

Adding to the immersive experience were four interactive stalls, strategically placed around the venue, offering refreshments, games, and small activities for attendees to enjoy between dance sessions. These stalls encouraged social interaction and ensured a multi-faceted festive experience, allowing students to relax, mingle, and fully engage with the event beyond the dance floor. The night continued with high energy dancing and music until 8:45 PM, with participants fully immersed in the rhythms, showcasing enthusiasm, coordination, and collective joy. The event drew to a graceful close at 9:00 PM, leaving attendees with a strong sense of fulfillment, happiness, and belonging.

The success of Garba Night 2025 was made possible by the dedicated efforts of coordinators Dr. Akshaya AVR, Ishita Dubey, and Sarang Sajivan, along with 35 student volunteers, who ensured smooth execution of all activities. With over 120 participants, the event not only celebrated Indian culture and traditions but also strengthened campus community bonds, promoted mental well-being, and created a lively space for cultural appreciation. Garba Night 2025 stands as a shining example of how thoughtful planning, student engagement, and cultural celebration can come together to create a truly memorable and inclusive campus experience.
