OIA Investiture Ceremony
The ceremony commenced promptly at 04:00 PM with an Opening and Prayer, invoking blessings for a successful and meaningful term ahead. The serene atmosphere set the tone for the rest of the evening, reflecting the spirit of unity and purpose that defines the Office of International Affairs. This was followed by the Acknowledgement of Dignitaries at 04:33 PM, where the presence of respected faculty members, administrative officials, and distinguished guests was warmly recognized. Their support and encouragement stood as a testament to the University’s holistic approach towards leadership and internationalization.
The ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp took place at 04:38 PM, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the illumination of wisdom, knowledge, and service. The glowing lamps represented the collective aspirations of the newly appointed office bearers to lead with integrity, inclusivity, and a spirit of collaboration. This ritual formally marked the beginning of the investiture proceedings and was accompanied by a sense of reverence and inspiration among the attendees.
At 04:45 PM, Dr. Jibrael Jose, Associate Dean, delivered a deeply insightful Address that set the tone for the ceremony. The much-awaited Appointment and Badge Ceremony began at 05:00 PM, where the newly selected office bearers were conferred with their badges of responsibility. This was followed by the solemn Oath-taking Ceremony at 05:20 PM, wherein the members pledged their unwavering commitment to serve the committee, uphold the vision and mission of the University, and act with dedication, accountability, and integrity in all their endeavors. The ceremony concluded gracefully with the Vote of Thanks at 05:50 PM, followed by the Christ Anthem and the Closing of the Ceremony at 06:00 PM.
