Orientation of Rotract Club


The Rotaract Orientation 2025–26 held on 4th October 2025 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm served as an introductory session to familiarize new members of the Rotaract Club of Christ University, Lavasa, with the club’s mission, hierarchy, avenues of service, and ethical framework. The orientation was an engaging and informative event that encouraged interaction, leadership development, and a deeper understanding of the Rotaract movement. It aimed to set the tone for the Rotaract Year (RIY) 2025–26 under Rotary International District 3131, fostering a spirit of community, service, and collaboration among the participants.

The session began with an icebreaker activity  “Intro with Intent” allowing participants to introduce themselves and share a dream role they aspire to achieve. This created an energetic environment and promoted a sense of belonging among members. The presentation then traced the origins of Rotary and Rotaract, highlighting milestones such as the founding of the Rotary Club of Chicago (1905) and the first Rotaract Club of the University of North Carolina (1968). The participants also learned about the first Indian Rotaract Club in Secunderabad, emphasizing the global and historical depth of the movement.

A major focus of the session was on understanding the Rotaract Hierarchy, including the roles of the District Rotaract Representative (DRR), District Council, Club President, and Board of Directors. Members were introduced to the Four-Way Test ie. Truth, Fairness, Goodwill, and Beneficial Actions such as the ethical foundation of Rotaract. The facilitator stressed the importance of integrity, accountability, and respect, reinforcing that the “Rtr.” The title symbolizes commitment to community and teamwork.

The presentation also covered the four avenues of Rotaract that are Professional Development, International Service, Community Service, and Club Service by  explaining how these areas shape holistic leadership. Members were guided through essential operational aspects such as Club Assemblies, Bylaws, and District Dues, ensuring clarity about administrative procedures and compliance with Rotary International guidelines. Real-world examples like Project Drishti (eye donation initiative) and Samyati 2.0 (international exchange during the Ganesh Festival) showcased the impact of Rotaract initiatives and inspired new members to participate actively.

The orientation concluded with a motivational message encouraging members to identify one skill they wish to strengthen during their Rotaract journey, be it leadership, teamwork, or communication. Through interactive roleplay and Q&A, participants left with a clearer sense of purpose, ready to contribute meaningfully to club activities and uphold the Rotaract spirit of “Service Above Self.”

1:Members gained a clear grasp of Rotaract’s structure, objectives, and global impact under District 3131.

2: The session instilled professional values, ethical conduct, and personal growth goals aligned with the Four-Way Test.

3: Participants developed enthusiasm for upcoming events and collaborations, strengthening internal club cohesion.
