The Movie Night- Superman 2025

The Movie Night – Superman (2025) organized by the BBA Insights Newscast Committee (BINC) under the School of Business and Management (BBA) at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, was held on 11th October 2025 at 5:30 PM in the Seminar Hall, Management Block. This engaging initiative was designed as part of BINC’s broader student engagement and community-building activities for the academic year 2025–26.

The event brought together 86 students from the BBA department, offering them an opportunity to relax, connect, and participate in a collective cultural experience. Coordinated by Dr. Akshaya AVR and supported by two student volunteers, Sarang Sajivan and Ishita Dubey, the screening ran smoothly from start to finish. The setup included comfortable seating arrangements, sound and projection systems, and a mid-film interval to enhance the overall viewing experience.

Although the event was structured as a recreational activity, it carried deeper layers of purpose and meaning. The committee’s decision to screen James Gunn’s Superman (2025) went beyond entertainment. The film, known for its bold political undertones and contemporary relevance, served as a conversation starter about moral complexity, power, and the societal expectations placed upon leadership and heroism. By choosing a film that reflects global anxieties and ethical challenges, the organizers subtly encouraged students to think critically about the world they are preparing to lead in. In that sense, the event became more than an escape—it evolved into an engagement with the themes of identity, morality, and responsibility.

From a management perspective, the initiative showcased excellent planning, execution, and creativity in resource mobilization. The event was organized as part of BINC’s fundraising initiative to support its activities for the academic year. Each participating student contributed a nominal amount of ₹75, which covered snacks and auditorium facilities. Importantly, there was no charge for the movie itself, reflecting the committee’s commitment to inclusivity and community engagement. The funds raised will be utilized to sustain BINC’s media, communication, and outreach activities throughout the year, such as newsletters, event coverage, student interviews, and digital awareness campaigns.

This self-funded model represents a sustainable and practical approach to student-led management, aligning with the department's emphasis on leadership, innovation, and accountability. By raising their own operational funds, the committee demonstrated financial prudence and entrepreneurial thinking—qualities that the BBA program seeks to instill in students. The fundraising effort also fostered a sense of ownership and teamwork among committee members, showcasing how entertainment and management learning can effectively intersect.

The event’s impact extended beyond the immediate entertainment value. It strengthened peer relationships, enhanced student engagement within the campus community, and offered a space for creative and critical discussions. Participants appreciated the initiative for its balance of fun, learning, and collaboration. The positive feedback underscored the effectiveness of informal learning environments in promoting holistic development among students.

In conclusion, the Movie Night – Superman (2025) was more than just a movie screening. It was a well-curated, student-driven initiative that blended cultural engagement, critical reflection, and financial sustainability. Through this event, BINC not only provided recreation but also embodied the university’s core values—creativity, responsibility, and social awareness—while raising funds to empower its future projects. The success of this initiative reaffirms the potential of student committees to innovate and lead with purpose, turning even a simple movie night into a meaningful and memorable academic-community experience.
