Menteezy for Mentors: A Training Session for BBA Faculty

The School of Business & Management (BBA), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, in collaboration with CHRIST Infotech, organized a specialized training session titled “Menteezy for Mentors: A Training Session for BBA Faculty” on 26th September 2025. The program, held at BBA Classroom No. 2310 in the Management Block from 4:20 PM to 5:00 PM, was designed exclusively for the BBA faculty members. The session was facilitated by Mr. Alwin Joseph, Assistant Professor at the School of Sciences & Technology and Technology Officer at CHRIST Infotech Research & Development Centre, Lavasa. A total of 12 faculty members from the BBA department participated in this initiative, which formed part of the department’s IQAC-driven efforts to strengthen and streamline the mentoring process.

The primary focus of the training was to introduce faculty members to the Menteezy application, a digital platform created to simplify and enhance the mentoring process for faculty clusters. Mentoring is a key pillar at CHRIST University, enabling faculty to closely guide, support, and monitor the holistic development of students. However, with increasing student numbers and multiple mentoring requirements, maintaining accurate records and ensuring consistency in the mentoring process often becomes challenging. Recognizing this, the department, in association with CHRIST Infotech, sought to adopt Menteezy as an innovative solution that makes mentoring more structured, efficient, and accessible.

During the session, Mr. Alwin Joseph provided a hands-on demonstration to the faculty, guiding them step-by-step through the features of the Menteezy platform. Faculty members were shown how to log in to the system, register their mentees, and enter individual as well as group mentoring details. The resource person elaborated on how mentors could update their records after each session and track the progress of their students over time. Importantly, participants learned how to access and download past mentoring records, ensuring continuity in student support and easy documentation for reporting purposes.

The session was designed to be highly interactive, giving participants the opportunity to practice on their laptops while the trainer walked them through the process. This experiential learning ensured that each faculty member was not only familiar with the theoretical aspects of the platform but also confident in applying the features independently. Whenever participants faced technical difficulties or had questions, the facilitator addressed them on the spot, creating a supportive environment where learning could take place smoothly.

The initiative represented a forward-looking step in the department’s commitment to improving academic and personal guidance for students. By digitizing the mentoring system, the process becomes more transparent, efficient, and less time-consuming for faculty, allowing them to devote more energy to meaningful conversations with students rather than administrative record-keeping. Additionally, Menteezy allows mentors to maintain a long-term view of a student’s progress, which is especially useful in supporting final-year students preparing for placements and higher studies.

In conclusion, the Menteezy for Mentors training session was a valuable and timely program that aligned with the department’s broader IQAC initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency in student support systems. Faculty members gained clarity, confidence, and practical experience in using the application, ensuring that they are now better equipped to manage the mentoring process seamlessly. The collaborative effort between the BBA department and CHRIST Infotech demonstrated the university’s commitment to innovation, quality enhancement, and continuous improvement in academic mentoring practices.
