Huntopia

The Huntopia Treasure Hunt was an innovative and interactive campus-wide initiative organized by the SDG Cell of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa, with the core objective of promoting awareness and understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through experiential learning. Held on 7th October 2025, the event transformed the Lavasa campus into an adventure-filled arena where students engaged in a dynamic learning experience that blended fun, collaboration, and sustainability education.

The event began at the Activity Hub, where participants were briefed on the objectives, rules, and safety measures, as well as the central theme that connected each clue to specific SDGs. A total of twenty enthusiastic teams—comprising students from various departments—participated in the treasure hunt, highlighting the interdisciplinary spirit of the initiative. The teams competed to decode four sustainability-based riddles distributed across key campus locations, including the Gazebo and other strategic spots, each representing a different SDG theme.

The event commenced at the Activity Hub, where participants were briefed about the objectives, safety guidelines, and the core theme linking each clue to a particular SDG. This thoughtful integration of sustainability concepts encouraged participants to think critically about real-world challenges and explore creative problem-solving methods while engaging in a high-energy activity. The treasure hunt format provided an engaging platform for students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical and collaborative setting.

Throughout the event, faculty members and student volunteers from the SDG Cell played an essential role in ensuring smooth coordination and maintaining the balance between competition and learning. Their guidance helped participants navigate the clues effectively while reinforcing the importance of teamwork, time management, and ethical conduct.

What set Huntopia apart was its educational depth intertwined with entertainment. As participants moved from one clue to another, they were not merely racing to win but also reflecting on how sustainable development principles could be applied in everyday life. The event emphasized the interconnectedness of environmental, social, and economic sustainability while fostering personal and academic growth among students.

Huntopia also promoted valuable soft skills such as collaboration, communication, leadership, and strategic decision-making. By solving time-bound challenges, students learned to coordinate efficiently, distribute roles, and adapt to changing scenarios—all key aspects of holistic education. The interdisciplinary participation—drawing students from business, analytics, communication, and environmental studies—further demonstrated the universality of sustainability goals and the collective responsibility toward achieving them.

In essence, Huntopia went beyond being a typical treasure hunt; it served as a platform for experiential learning and SDG-driven engagement. By combining play, learning, and purpose, the event successfully instilled environmental and social consciousness among students. It exemplified CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa’s commitment to nurturing global citizens who are both intellectually competent and socially responsible. The event concluded with participants gaining not only the joy of discovery but also a deeper appreciation for how individual and collective actions can contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future.
