Dr Senthil narrated anecdotes from his experience in the corporate sector and his strong association with Christ, Bangalore. He suggested that the college must host an annual school learner conference in future. The need of the hour is to have campus connect programs.
An interactive activity was conducted and it was brought to everyone's notice that 4 As namely awareness, assessment, acceptance and attitude, were the key factors which will help a college create its own identity. Thus an institution's identity combined with personal identity will bring about the desired Change.
According to Dr Senthil leading to learn and learning to lead by example must be the driving force to achieve the vision, mission and core values which CHRIST upholds.
He asserted that academic plan per department needs to be worked out with specific focus on scope and purpose, objectives, initiatives, structure, measurements and uniqueness. He stressed upon the need to remember that, while designing graduation attributes actualization must be kept in mind and specific reference ought to be given to design, delivery and evaluation as part of educational practices.
He shared a case study of a collaborative program for an in-depth understanding of the concept. Dr Senthil suggested that specific clubs such as eco, adventure or drama club must be formed to release the energy of the students, while incorporating nature, which is in abundance.
He motivated the teachers to work in close collaboration while focusing on Excellence in Education. They must strive hard to create an identity for CHRIST, Lavasa with a quantifiable objective. The mission should be to work diligently from Recruitment to Retirement.
Director, Fr Jossy thanked Dr Senthil for an insightful session with the teachers and wished them to practice reflective thinking, while they formulate a strategy as an educator that goes beyond the classroom. He inspired the teachers to be self-motivated. All the teachers felt that Dr Senthil’s session was informative as he narrated anecdotes and gave real examples which were relatable. The two day-long session concluded with an interaction with the non-teaching staff.
