INDUSTRIAL VISIT
On the 17th of May 2022, the students of fourth semester BSc (Data Science), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus travelled to Pune for an industrial visit to Xoriant Solutions Pvt Ltd Xoriant was founded in the 1990s by an IIT Bombay graduate, Mr Girish Gaitonde. Mr Akash, Mr Sudeep, Mr Dhawal, and Mr Sameer were all kind enough to walk us through the way of life in Xoriant. Mr Akash welcomed the group of 32 students along with two professors, Mr Libin Chacko Samuel and Dr Lija Jacob, and the Placement Officer Mrs Irudaya to their facility. Further on Mr Sameer addressed the students. He discussed the foundations of Xoriant, the yet evolving nature of Data Science, and encouraged the students to practice projects on the platform of Kaggle, explaining how it would provide the students with some competitive advantage.
