REPORT FOR THE VIRTUAL ALUMNI MEET 2022

The School of Business and Management (MBA) hosted the Annual Alumina Meet 2022 in a digital environment on February 26th from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM for Seniors and Juniors at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.   The event started with two Alumni hosts, Rubin and Sonal, who actively conducted this event. The event began at 6.00 PM with the introduction of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. The video represented the university in its totality, students' educational and experiential journey, the scope for new learning, and the scenic beauty of Lavasa. This was followed by a cultural prayer dance. Both the hosts then called upon Dr Fr Jossy P George (Director) to address the first virtual alumni meet.  Father appreciated the alumni for their time and effort. REPORT ON VALUE YOUR DREAMS – DETOX YOUR MIND

CCHS (Center for Counseling & Health Services) in association with the Placement Office, organized a 90-minute session for students of the Data Science department on the 20th of December 2021 in the Central Block Auditorium at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. It was an engaging session on the topic Value Your Dreams – Detox Your Mind. The session began with an ice breaker event which really recalled the memories back with “remember your friend “conducted by Irudaya – Placement Officer and the takeaway was awesome from the students who participated in various courses from the Department of Data Science. FIN-TECH: EXPANDING HORIZONS

The Finance club had invited Mr Abhilash Chatterjee, a Fin-Tech Evangelist, as the guest speaker on the occasion of the inaugural session on 18th February 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. WEBINAR ON ‘KICK START YOUR CAREER IN DATA SCIENCE’

The Department of Data Science, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organized a Webinar on 'Kick Start your Career in Data Science' on 16th February 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 PM. Mr Dhaval Patel (Youtuber, 500k subscribers, Software Engineer, Bloomberg, NVIDIA, Princeton, New Jersey, United States) was the resource person for the webinar. Mr Dhaval Patel, an experienced person in Data science with industry experience of more than seven years, is an avid Youtuber and career advisor, enlightened the viewers on data science and different careers in the respective field. PANEL DISCUSSION ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN INDIA : A RISING CONCERN

Panel Discussion on “Human Trafficking in India: A Rising Concern” was organized by the School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune, Lavasa on 11th January 2022.  The s objective of the event was to bring greater awareness among the participants over the crime of human trafficking and to have a discussion over existing Laws, regulations and policies in India for combatting human trafficking. INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON DATA SCIENCE, COMPUTATION AND SECURITY - IDSCS’22

The Third International Conference on Data Science, Computation and Security (IDSCS-22) hosted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus in association with Springer from 11th to 12th February 2022. The conference was conducted online with participants from all across the globe. The conference commenced with the inauguration ceremony at 9:30 AM. Dr Pooja Batra was the Emcee for the occasion and began with the Lighting of the Lamp, followed by a prayer song performed by the students of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. Dr Samiksha Shukla welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honor, Vice-Chancellor and the keynote speakers for the day and summarized forthcoming events of IDSCS'22. SCAVENGER HUNT

On 17th December, Cadre Club (HR) of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus School of Business Management organized the event ‘Scavenger Hunt.’ It was a treasure hunt-based game where the whole MBA department was divided into three specializations – HR, Marketing and Finance. Each specialization was further divided into teams of 5 - 6 members to perform the given tasks. Each team was given initial clues to be solved before the final clue. The last clue led every team to the same location where the final event was held, i.e., the football ground. The final task was to carry a small ball from Point A to Point B with the help of the given logistics without touching the ball with hands. The whole objective of the game was to make students understand the importance of the organizational goal and required teamwork to achieve it. PROJECT BRIDGE – ACTIVITY SENTOSA

On 18th December 2021, as Lavasa Campus celebrated Magnificat, the volunteers of CSA Project Bridge organised “Sentosa” at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune  Lavasa Campus for the school children of the nearby villages Dasve and Bohini. Project Bridge is an initiative of the CSA which commenced during the lockdown. It was noticed by the students who were stuck in Lavasa during the lockdown, that children of our housekeeping staff were not having access to quality education. A basic study concluded that these students lack the proficiency to compete and sustain themselves in this competitive environment where talents and skills are at a premium, due to inadequate academic training. These volunteers decided to take action to orient these students and uplift not just their pedagogical quotient but also their overall development. This ongoing program commenced on 28 June 2021 and includes children from classes 6th to the 12th. The activities carried out under the aegis of Project Brid
