Objective: The Power BI workshop was designed to provide MBA students of Christ University Pune Lavasa Campus with an in-depth understanding of the features and capabilities of the Power BI platform. The goal was to empower participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to create and share interactive data visualizations and reports, which are essential for their future careers in business and management. Attendance: The workshop was attended by 67 MBA students, representing Christ University Pune Lavasa Campus. The attendees were a mix of students from different backgrounds, with varying levels of experience in data analysis and business intelligence. The Fundamentals and Procedure of Trial Advocacy Competitions

A trial problem was provided to the students participating in the workshop. The students were allowed to bring their laptops and hardcopy of the provided case for their reference. Later the participants were segregated into two groups with a maximum of 29  members. The participation cost for an individual was completely free of any charges. There was no eligibility for participation as such, it was open for all students of the School of Law, Lavasa campus. Registration for the Workshop was started on the 16th of November 2022. The case study was released to the participants on 23rdth of November 2022. The participants had been given almost one week of time to go through the hypothetical case, and after that, they were asked to attend the workshop divided into various sessions. MOU Signing

The department is signing a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) with Smartail Pvt. Ltd (EdTech Company for AI Powered Products), Chennai, TamilNadu on 05-12-2022 between 12.00 to 01.00 p.m at Board Room, Central Block. As an Artificial Intelligence based product developer for education and industry, Smartail will work with Christ University, Pune in providing its DeepGrade AI for assessment and dashboarding.  On its part, Christ University, Pune will collaborate with Smartail in providing interns from each of the English based subjects not exceeding 3 per subject in a quarterly period (ex: Maths, Science, Social, English, Commerce, Accountancy, Statistics, Data science) for handson exposure, testing and validating one or more of Smartail’s products. The period of internship would be 4 calendar months and working days are from Monday to Saturday, after college hours. Machine learning contains a set of algorithms that work on a huge amount of data. Data is fed to these algorithms to train them, and on the basis of training, they build the model & perform a specific task. The Data Science Association (DSA) conducted Cipher ‘22, a skill enhancing and cultivating tech fest, for the students of the Computer Science Department at Christ College, Pune. Quality Improvement programme 2023

The Quality Improvement Programme was conducted from 7th -13th January, 2023. The QIP program began with Dr Praveen Vaidya giving a workshop on the best utilization of the library resources. A brief introduction to the proper use of research platforms available on Knimbus was given. Professor Dr. Shampa I Dev covered aspects of Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy (RBT) and alignment of curriculum to RBT levels. She discussed the cognitive and affective domain-emotional aspects of RBT. Keywords regarding the alignment of Assessment to RBT levels were also discussed.  This session was followed by an informative workshop conducted by Mr. Naived George Eapen & Ms. Amrutha Rose Valavi, where the participants of the QIP were oriented to the course plan. The workshop on developing the LinkedIn profile was organized by Finance Club – Harmony. Mr. Vishal Rampalle - Talent Acquisition, TCS and Ms. Tatwadnya Ganeshkar TCS were the resource people for this workshop. The participants were from MBA First year and Second Year with total of 140 students out of which only 137 were present. A Finance knowledge competition was organized by finance club of MBA department on 10thJune2022. The Competition was titled FIN EXTEMPORE. The event intended to test students’ finance knowledge, business acumen and certain soft skills clubbed with the ability to coordinate and cooperate with different specialization students. It was expected that the competition would help the students in developing deep understanding of financial markets and concepts related to the domain. In addition, it sought to develop coordination, cooperation, and leadership skills among the participants.  The event started with a welcome address after which all the participants were grouped in 14 teams. “What if…?” Mentoring competition

 Prof. Shrutika Mishra’s mentees organized a mentoring competition for the 1st year MBA students called “What If…?” The competition started on 7th December & commenced on 8th December 2022 in the MBA auditorium. This competition was the first one conducted by the mentees under the guidance of Prof. Shrutika Mishra. The emcee of the competition Mr Arunava Chatterjee and Ms. Bhawana M.S gave a brief note of what is the competition all about and how the competition will be conducted along with the rules of the event. Participants were asked to create a presentation about a company that has failed in the past decade and what were the reasons behind it. Human Rights of Refugees

The session of the day started at 2 PM. Before the lectures could begin, Dr. Pratapsinh Salunke came on to the stage, expertly summarizing the topic and providing a short speech, letting the students know what the topic would consist of. Then, Mr. Visruth Raveendran provided a lecture on the topic “Human Rights of Refugees”. In the lecture he spoke on the various institutions of refugees and on the work he had done to help the Rohinga refugees within India. He further spoke on all the measures provided by the UNHRC for the protection of these refugees, yet how every effort is still lacking. Adv. Raveendran introduced the concept of ‘refugee’ to the audience by expanding on, for the benefit of the audience, the definitions of State (under Article 12 of the Constitution of India) and Statehood (through the concept of Citizenship under Article 11 of the Constitution of India). Quality Improvement Programme

The Quality Improvement Programme was conducted from 8th to 13th August, 2022. Dr. Ram Gambhir covered aspects of Research Design and Types of Research, Review of Literature: Theoretical Perspective and Concept Map, Overview of format of Research Proposal, Developing Research Objectives, Budget and Timeline and Tools of Data Collection spread over 10 sessions and purpose based innovative activities. Dr. Shridhar Gokhale oriented the faculties on what are the stages of research and how to develop a style of scholarly writing in research articles over two informative sessions. Dr. Madhuri Gokhale talked for two sessions on “Effective Writing in Research”. She talked about the four basic skills of research language - Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. She touched upon the aspects of styles of communication, how to improve word precision, relationship between grammar and usage.
