CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa was selected as the Best Upcoming University in Maharashtra 2019 by Centre for Education Growth and Research (CEGR) Jury Committee on 23 rd  August 2019 during their 5th Higher Education Summit at Hyatt, Pune.  Fr Jossy thanked CEGR Jury Committee upon receiving the award. An introduction to Graph Theory

Fr. Antony Puthussery CMI, CHRIST University, Bangalore was the resource person who gave an introduction to Graph Theory for Data Science students at CHRIST, Lavasa in August 2019. They were informed that the first paper on graph theory came in 1835 which is a year after Graph theory was initiated. At present papers are available for Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics etc. Through a world map and some connected points, the students got an idea of network connection, connection of servers, nodes (points), connection (branches), etc. they were given detailed information about applications of graph theory. They came to know that Google Map shows connections (paths/branches) from one location (point/node) to another. It uses GPS (working in the front end) and calculation of the fastest and shortest path (working in the back end). CSA (Centre for Social Action) was inaugurated on 22 nd August 2019 in the Auditorium, Central Block , CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. It was attended by all undergraduate and post graduate students along with their teachers. CHRIST, Lavasa has always propagated the cause of social welfare and has encouraged students and teaching fraternity to work for the upliftment of society. Industrial Visits Arranged For PGDM Final Year Students

PGDM students of Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa got an opportunity to visit two manufacturing units near Pune on Wednesday,21 st  August 2019. They were escorted by CRM, JK Pandey and Dr Dilip Nandkeolyar. An industrial visit is a part of PGDM course during which the students visit a company to get an insight into its internal working environment. Such visits have a lot of importance for students as they give them a solid foundation to gain real-world information. The students come to know how theoretical ideas are put into practice. In doing so they are exposed to work methodology, employment practice of a company etc. The main objective of such industrial visit is to provide students the feel of the actual working environment and to gain practical knowledge and skills, which in turn motivates, develops and builds their confidence. Law Aspirants Unwind During Fresher’s Day

The School of Law, CHRIST, Lavasa organized its Fresher’s Day on 17th August 2019 in the Management Block, CIML from 6 PM onwards. Director & Dean, Fr Jossy P George, Academic Coordinator, Fr Arun Antony, students and faculty members were present to witness a fun filled evening that began amidst loud cheer. The animated anchoring by Vaishnavi Rastogi and Maneesh Mahinvith won everyone’s heart. The theme of the Fresher’s party was ‘Arabian Nights’. The name of the event was “Laylat Almuhamin”, it means `Lawyer’s Night’. The program helped the students to unwind and it was impressively organized by the law aspirants and for the law aspirants. An Insightful Session On Technical Analysis

Head of Academics, Dr Binu P Paul conducted an insightful session on Technical Analysis for students on 16th August 2019. It is one of the most commonly used techniques in stock market trading. Technical analysis charts present data regarding individual stocks graphically. The price movements of the stock appear on the graph in patterns that reveal the views of the market about the stock and then trading takes place.  For the uninitiated it is not easy to appreciate the method. However the students who attended the class, including some faculty members, got an insight into it. The highlight of the session was that a real time trading was practically done in the class. The students were able to watch the method which was used for trading and how it's logic helped a trader take a particular position. New Post Graduate Students Welcomed At CHRIST, Lavasa

The inaugural program for post graduate students of M Sc, Data Science and MA (Business Economics) along with 2019-2021 Batch of MBA students was held on 17 th  August 2019 in the Auditorium, Central Block, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The new students assembled on time and the program began with a welcome note. An invocation dance was gracefully performed by Christ dance team – Kalarpana and appreciated by the audience. A wide array of events has been scheduled for young budding artists to showcase their caliber and win awards and recognition under the banner of Darpan’19 . The inauguration of this intra collegiate fest began on 19 th August 2019 with a lot of promise in Central Block, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa .
