73rd Independence Day celebrated at CHRIST, Lavasa

The country’s 73rd Independence Day was celebrated at CHRIST, Lavasa on 15th August 2019 in Central Block.

Director, Fr Jossy hoisted the flag with utmost reverence. CRM, Gp Capt J K Pandey addressed the entire gathering and motivated the students, support staff and faculty members to let the spirit of nationalism stay alive in their heart. He felt that it is a matter of pride and honour that at present Indians are living in a free nation. Mr Pandey also reminded people to remember the sacrifice made by freedom fighters for independence. He questioned if people are aware of the value of independence, which they are enjoying at present and advised them to live in present and look forward to a bright future.

He rightly said that every Indian must contribute in the success of the nation by performing his or her duty as an individual. It includes maintenance of cleanliness, help the needy, fight for injustice, contribute in the progress of the nation and remember that betterment of society is of paramount importance. He also asserted that people must be aware of their rights and ought to perform their duty with sincerity. Then only the nation will progress.

Dhruv anchored the program with poise and grace befitting the occasion. A pledge was also taken. BBA students, Varshit and Nandini read out a speech on Independence Day in English and Hindi respectively. The program ended with distribution of sweets.
