Brandits 3.0 Moving On With Grit And Determination

As Brandits 3.0 is moving on with grit and determination it has been a pleasant surprise to note team members working in tandem with each other to accomplish a given task. It was also delightful to observe various smaller groups working collectively on several tasks in keeping with the objectives of their respective team. It appears as if CHRIST’s dream of holistic education is becoming fruitful.

Team B gave a meaningful performance on 31st July 2019 through a Street Play that addressed a social cause and it touched the audience to the core.

All in a day’s work! That’s exactly what by Dr Benny, the chief Coordinator of Brandits 3.0 felt when he observed students performing multiple tasks in one single day. It felt magical and truly inspirational despite classes, heavy downpour and other commitments.

Team A sensitized everyone about charging booth and held an awareness campaign on conservation of electricity. It was interesting to watch them indulge in a mock fight with competing teams over posting advertisements. The entire team was immaculately dressed in shades of Blue. They also had trust fall campaign. The highlight of the team’s activities was a humorous advertising campaign featuring, 'Say NO to plastic, Save environment'.

Team B was also dressed in multiple shades of Blue but the message behind the dress code was to bring the issue of water scarcity to everyone’s notice. As a good will gesture they served water to people and instructed them about the importance of ‘Staying Hydrated’. They also propagated the benefits of hand sanitization. Since there was a major power shut down in Lavasaa they entertained the general public by singing songs and went a step ahead by providing free hotspots to students.

It was sweet gesture to watch the team members pamper the students who came to college after playing by wiping their heads with a towel. They even reduced the workload of non-teaching staff by collecting waste from canteen and disposing it properly. They went ahead and educated the employees of Hotel Celebrations about cutting cost by growing their own plants. Since they practice what they preach so the members planted ‘Moong Dal’ with them outside their Hotel. In an effort to exhibit equality the students put a Bindi on boys’ forehead. The team members went a step ahead and wore a yellow ribbon to created awareness about Sarcoma Cancer, as the entire month of July was dedicated to it.
In an effort to spread awareness about conserving electricity and using the available resources effectively the team members collected waste electric wires and wore them as a ring. Above all they were successful in spreading awareness regarding digital mode of payment to shopkeepers since they do not use online payment options.

Team C won points for showing solidarity towards banning all kinds of gender differences among people. Hence they wore rainbow batches. They also invited fellow Christites to join the cause by pasting chart papers on the wall where people could leave their thumbprints to show their support for this noble cause. It was heartening to note faculty members’ support towards the LGBTQ community in our society. On a lighter note they had a tête-à-tête with the locals to make them feel important. In an effort to support the social cause of clean India the team members volunteered to clean the leaves scattered in the corridor along with housekeeping staff.

Finally, they encouraged people to use library in order to gain knowledge. They even inspired everyone to meet people with an open heart and not differentiate between people based their personal equation with them.

Team D was equally enthusiastic and interacted with UG canteen staff and understood about their culture through various activities. They also drew tattoo on UG and PG students’ hands based on the theme; `Colors of Joy’. The students briefed UG students about the need to save water and informed them about depleting resources in our country. They won points for posting sticky notes with captions " Save water / Every drop is precious", near washrooms and water dispensers in the UG block.
In turn the UG students were asked to express their views and suggestions towards saving water in particular and environment in general. As part of a pledge to save water, the team ran a bucket impression challenge across both the blocks. It was fun to watch them play in the rain with UG students in order to make them feel light.

The team was also dressed in shades of Blue to suggest 'save water' since there was water shortage in Lavasa yesterday. They designed personalized save water badges and wore them throughout the day. A message about it was also displayed on the TV screen. As champions of social cause they helped the non-teaching staff by cleaning the tables after breakfast. In view of 'National Mutt Day', they fed stray dogs (mixed breed) with biscuits. T
he team won brownie points when they visited "Zila Prathmik Vidyalaya" and conducted various activities such as Yoga and other exercises, they played Handball, Cricket and Football and distributed toffees and cricket bat and ball kit among the children. The students also went ahead and told them about the importance of being neat and clean and taught the kids to be kind with dogs. Their visit ended with an energetic dance performance.

A Street Play by Team C during the breakfast break was an instant hit among the audience.

The upcoming activities include BrandMash - Dubsmash video submission by Friday, 2nd August 2019 before 9:00 AM and Tetrathlon Championship to begin at 2.30 PM tomorrow.
