Webinar on Nuances of Scientific Research

The department of Data Science, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus and Centre for Research, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore Central Campus jointly organized a webinar on 'Nuances of Scientific Research' on 18 May 2021 from 4.00 PM - 6.00 PM. The speaker for the talk was Dr Aninda Bose, Senior Publishing Editor - Books, Springer Nature, India.  The webinar started with Ms Teres Augustine (Student, 1 MSc Data Science) welcoming the Chief Guest, Dr Fr Joseph Varghese, Dr Fr. Jossy P. George, Fr. Arun Anthony, the faculty and the participants. Dr Fr Joseph Varghese gave the welcome address to the audience. He talked about the decline in the availability of scholars for research review due to the pandemic, but Springer is doing a great job keeping research alive and appreciated their efforts. Business Analysis Webinar by Ms Madhumita Peddinti

A Business Analysis session was organized by Prof. Jayant Mahajan and Prof. Sharad Gupta and hosted by Shincy Thampi and Bhavya Thamban. The guest speaker was Ms Madhumita Peddinti. It was a complete discussion-based session where questions were asked by  Samantha Fredrick D’Souza, followed by a few questions from the audience. Ms Madhumita is a Business Analyst, and hence the session started with the reason behind her getting into the field and what interests her the most. She was also asked about the projects she has worked on as a Business Analyst. She shared the information about a few of the most challenging projects she has worked on and how she overcame those challenges,  along with the strategies implemented to do so.  Students got to know the know-how of the role of a Business Analyst and how to approach a requirement implementing various phases at each project. Rabindrasmrithi: A Tribute to Rabindranath Tagore

  “You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water” ~ Rabindranath Tagore, The King of Dark Chamber The Literary Committee and Cultural Committee from the Student Bar Association of the School of Law, organized a program conceptualized by the Faculty member Ms Christine Samuel, to commemorate his 160th birth anniversary of Shri Rabindranath Tagore under the guidance of the Head of the Department Prof. Dr Daisy Alexander on May 07, 2021, at 10:15am. The event commenced with the introductory remarks by Rev. Fr. Dr Jossy George. Continuing the legacy and notable works of Rabindranath Tagore, Dr Namita Mukherjee and Ms Arpita Ghosh the Counsellors presented the melodious Rabindra Sangeet, very well received by the audience. Director's Address - Webinar on "Intersection of Law and Technology: Opportunities & Risks"

Good evening to one and all present here today for this webinar. I would like to begin by congratulating the law department of CHRIST Lavasa for taking the initiative to mark this Law & Technology Day, one among many commemorated in the last few months. Often we are unaware of the significance, let alone, the existence of many such important days and I whole heartedly appreciate the team for committing to this endeavor of marking important days with webinars and departmental events. I’m sure everyone who has participated in the events so far are a little more enlightened on the topics discussed over the course of these commemorations. The intersection of Law and Tech is indeed an interesting field, and one of increasing relevance in the tech driven times that we currently live in. Security concerns like where and how is the content that we put out being consumed is often a cause of worry. In such a situation, the topic of discussion for today is of increasing importance. I extend a
