Rabindrasmrithi: A Tribute to Rabindranath Tagore

The Literary Committee and Cultural Committee from the Student Bar Association of the School of Law, organized a program conceptualized by the Faculty member Ms Christine Samuel, to commemorate his 160th birth anniversary of Shri Rabindranath Tagore under the guidance of the Head of the Department Prof. Dr Daisy Alexander on May 07, 2021, at 10:15am. The event commenced with the introductory remarks by Rev. Fr. Dr Jossy George. Continuing the legacy and notable works of Rabindranath Tagore, Dr Namita Mukherjee and Ms Arpita Ghosh the Counsellors presented the melodious Rabindra Sangeet, very well received by the audience. The event was followed by a speech, solo dance, and short film prepared by the Media Team; a Hindi speech, a song, a group dance by the Cultural Team, YouTube video on Rabindranath Tagore discussing his life and history, and ending on a poem recitation on Birpurush by Rabindranath Tagore.

The event was appreciated by the faculty members and the august audience was aimed at paying homage to the Indian polymath - a renowned poet, composer, philosopher, social reformer and a Prize for Literature.  Ms Harshvi Tolia compared the event and the vote of thanks was proposed by Assistant professor Ms Christine Elizabeth Samuel The event was conducted through the platform of Cisco Webex.
