Business Analysis Webinar by Ms Madhumita Peddinti

A Business Analysis session was organized by Prof. Jayant Mahajan and Prof. Sharad Gupta and hosted by Shincy Thampi and Bhavya Thamban. The guest speaker was Ms Madhumita Peddinti. It was a complete discussion-based session where questions were asked by  Samantha Fredrick D’Souza, followed by a few questions from the audience. Ms Madhumita is a Business Analyst, and hence the session started with the reason behind her getting into the field and what interests her the most. She was also asked about the projects she has worked on as a Business Analyst. She shared the information about a few of the most challenging projects she has worked on and how she overcame those challenges,  along with the strategies implemented to do so.

Students got to know the know-how of the role of a Business Analyst and how to approach a requirement implementing various phases at each project. The tools and techniques used to convert the requirements into an entire design and collaboration of the same were also topics stressed.

Ms Madhumita shared a few tips and information on what students need to pay attention to when the design phase is over and the implementation begins. She explained the requirement gathering and if the design and implementation phases are executed in a parallel or sequence. A few of the things that were explained and all these were, What kind of post-implementation services must be provided to the clients? How the technology like Artificial Intelligence,  Deep Learning, Machine Learning, etc. have changed the domain of Business Analytics?  What are the current career opportunities in business analytics and her advice to the students who are aspiring to pursue a career as Business Analysts.

The session was beneficial for the students since they could directly communicate with the speaker and gain more profound and detailed information about the subject. Since it was a  one-on-one session, it was very interactive, allowing students to ask as many questions as

possible and learn better since Business Analytics is an integrated part of all the fields within the organization, and students need to know it to be better professionals.
