SPERANZA CLUB ACTIVITY

Speranza Club organized "nUT cASE" on 28th September 2018 in the Auditorium. It comprised of fun filled learning activities that made them think out of the box. It was a case study competition for HR Junior students. The contestants were expected to come up with viable solutions and strategies for the stake holders.   The juniors were divided into five teams and they were assessed on their negotiation skills by a panel of judges. Their problem solving ability was also tested as they faced a volley of questions related to the given situation. An interesting part of the event was when the other teams were also judged and given credit points for asking pertinent questions related to the given case study.     The entire activity was completely interactive and it kept everyone engrossed. CSA (CENTRE FOR SOCIAL ACTION) CLUB INAUGURATED

CSA (Centre for Social Action) Club was inaugurated on 27th September 2018 in the auditorium. It presented the popular saying, `Be a change you wish to see in the world around’. In an untiring effort by some students of Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa, a club named `Vikas’ was formed, to work for a social cause. They intend to educate children of economically weaker section of the society, put a smile on their face and make a difference in their lives. While being empathetic for the society, they genuinely teach them to grow as an individual. The students joyfully use song and dance as a medium to convey their message and it is a satisfying feeling when they see these children cooperate with them. Director, Dr Fr Jossy P George declared the club open and motivated the students to show concern and cooperate for such a serious cause. Excellence at Xllenz

The Intra Collegiate Management Fest (intra campus) – Xllenz 2018 was conducted on 21st and 22ndSeptember 2018 at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa. It is a pre cursor to CIM’s management festival, XUBRENZ. The various business-related events were conducted between four clans namely Knights, Samurais, Spartans and Vikings. The organizing team from the Commerce Department, Christ University, Bengaluru conducted the events efficiently and smoothly. It can be rightly said that productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort. Xllenz is the management fest organized by Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa which stimulates competition between the students based on various attributes from the corporate world. TRAINING SESSION FOR NON TEACHING STAFF

Training Session for Non Teaching Staff An interactive training session for the non teaching staff was conducted on 20th September 2018 by retired IAF officer, Gp Capt J K Pandey. Director, Fr Jossy George introduced him and motivated the members to be interactive during the session. At the outset the training session focused on issues that were common to all departments such as how the staff needs to deal with the queries of the students seeking admission. He stressed on the need to maintain the books of accounts as per the regulations in vog u e and charter of duties. Gp Capt Pandey stressed upon the need to project the college with a positive outlook. He advised them to speak to the students and parents with courtesy and politely at all times highlighting the activities and achievements of the college. CONNECT OVER COFFEE

“Connect Over Coffee” On Monday , 17 th September 2018 “Connect Over Coffee.” was launched. The Vision was “to improve individual knowledge horizon and learn from others experiences”. It is an open platform to share individual thoughts, experiences and the sole aim is to build a team of energetic youth who are eager to improve their communication skills and knowledge through cross learning. There was an interactive quiz at the amphitheatre in the morning as an ice breaker. The audience was asked to guess the taglines of various famous coffee brands and were suitably rewarded. Ramraj G, Bhavishya Sajith and Smirthi Radhakrishnan anchored the entire event.   The formal event took place in the afternoon in the Smart Room. REACH OUT AND TOUCH PEOPLE’S LIVES

Reach Out And Touch People’s Lives An interactive session was conducted by MENTORING AND COUNSELLING SERVICES (MACS) at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa on 14 th and 15 th September 2018 for PGDM2 students. A team led by Professor Noel from Christ University, Bengaluru coordinated the workshop. It features ways and means of “Touching Lives”. The workshop began with Coordinator, Fr Arun Antony’s address. Fr Arun said that it was slightly different from a regular class. He motivated the students to reflect a little more on core moral values as they are being prepared to work as business leaders in the corporate world. These values will empower them to sustain success in the corporate sector. Professor Noel thanked Director, Fr Jossy P George and Coordinator, Fr Arun profusely for their whole hearted cooperation, encouragement and inspiration. DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE - STRIVE FOR PERFECTION

Director’s Message - Strive for Perfection Director, Fr Jossy P George addressed the First Year students on 10 th September 2018 in the Conference Room. It began with a silent prayer. At the outset Fr Jossy briefed them about the pattern of studying, wherein the focus must be on all significant topics and not be limited to selected questions. The need of the hour is that a student of PGDM has to manage time, deal with CIA marks and take part in all co-curricular activities. A persistent effort is needed which centres around diligently working hard to get a good score. Fr Jossy brought to their knowledge that during placement prospective companies will focus on a sincere and an industrious student. Fr Jossy presented a video which showcased the secret behind Kenya winning maximum gold medals.
