DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE - STRIVE FOR PERFECTION

Director’s Message - Strive for Perfection

Director, Fr Jossy P George addressed the First Year students on 10th September 2018 in the Conference Room. It began with a silent prayer. At the outset Fr Jossy briefed them about the pattern of studying, wherein the focus must be on all significant topics and not be limited to selected questions. The need of the hour is that a student of PGDM has to manage time, deal with CIA marks and take part in all co-curricular activities. A persistent effort is needed which centres around diligently working hard to get a good score. Fr Jossy brought to their knowledge that during placement prospective companies will focus on a sincere and an industrious student.

Fr Jossy presented a video which showcased the secret behind Kenya winning maximum gold medals. The genetic, geographical and physiological factors were relegated in the background and it turned out that only talent and hard work led them to victory as compared to the privileged lot.

Fr Jossy focused on `Talent Identification’ and advised them to contact any faculty member for guidance. It chiefly focused on performance and potential. Director, Fr Jossy articulated that they must attend each class and ensure that CIA is submitted on time to score marks. The hard earned money of their parents must not be wasted and the students must aim to justify their selection for a PGDM course.

He also advised them to analyze the companies that come to CIM, Lavasa and at the Bengaluru campus and accordingly decide about their placement. An important feature of CIM, Lavasa is the corporate talks by various CEOs or other heads from the corporate world. He advised them to interact with them after a session and identify the causes for better job prospects. Fr Jossy rightly said that a good student makes utmost effort at the beginning. It is never too late as the best time to start anything is `Now’.

Director, Fr Jossy encouraged them to start planning their desired goal from the beginning of a trimester. They must learn the art of saying No at the right time and strive hard to continue their pursuit towards excellence. At the end of an inspiring talk Director, Fr Jossy P George assured them of his unflinching support to help them realize their dream.
