Excellence at Xllenz




The Intra Collegiate Management Fest (intra campus) – Xllenz 2018 was conducted on 21st and 22ndSeptember 2018 at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa. It is a pre cursor to CIM’s management festival, XUBRENZ. The various business-related events were conducted between four clans namely Knights, Samurais, Spartans and Vikings. The organizing team from the Commerce Department, Christ University, Bengaluru conducted the events efficiently and smoothly.



It can be rightly said that productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort. Xllenz is the management fest organized by Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa which stimulates competition between the students based on various attributes from the corporate world. This helps them to understand where their passion lies.



Xllenz provides a great opportunity to students to compete against each other and it was mandatory for all students to participate in the fest.  The events revolved around marketing, finance, HR, corporate strategy and entrepreneurship. The unflinching effort was to create a spirit of healthy competition with specific focus on team building and testing their strategy making capabilities.



The campus bore a festive look as all the clans geared up and decorated their respective areas creatively. It infused in them a desire to participate in the right spirit. It nurtured a feeling of comradeship and taught them to work in close coordination with each other. Each clan gave their best and it was a pleasure to watch them compete against each other for the coveted titles. They could be seen encouraging each other and took part in all the activities in the right spirit.

 









The event began with an invocation song, ` Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace’, sung by Manila Lakra, Ritu Grace Kanare and Alwin with Sephora Fernandes on the key board.



Then Academics Coordinator, Fr Arun Antony addressed the august gathering and declared the event open. Fr Arun was elated to welcome the students from Christ University, Bengaluru, CIM and the faculty members to the 3rd edition of Xllenz. He said that it was a great opportunity for experiential learning. Fr Arun motivated the students and requested them not to be passive listeners rather they ought to absorb the experience and apply the learning in their class room activities.





Fr Arun also encouraged them to remember that while they take part in the activities they must keep in mind that it is an opportunity to understand their own self as they compete with themselves. It will facilitate classroom learning as they are they are being prepared for a corporate experience.


Fr Arun also congratulated the entire organizing team from Christ University, Bengaluru for their dedication and sincerity in execution of their plans for the event. The opening ceremony was efficiently anchored by Ann Landis.



Harshika Nair,  Nidhin Dilip , Tanmay Agarwal ,  Manan Rupani ,  Naman Pandey , Mohammed Daniyal,  Sohan Chaterjee,  Vaishnavi M A, Andria Mendez , Kushboo Rajpurohit, David Vishanth J and G Vasanth Kumar were part of the organizing team from Christ University, Bengaluru. Naman Pandey took over from Ann Landis and briefed everyone about the events.


Seven events were organized namely, The Tycoon (Best Manager). It aimed at encouraging people to unleash their inventive potential and exhibit ideas spanning multiple dimensions and taking entire control of it.


The Huckster (Marketing Event). This event concentrated on a candidate’s potential to be the marketing ace of the future.

The Spokesperson (PR and HR event). This event assessed the HR and PR skills of a probable candidate.


The Strategist (Corporate Strategy Event).  It tested the skills of being adaptable and able to survive in a competitive corporate world.

The Greenback (Finance Event). It focused on acquiring knowledge about recent trends in the economy and mastery of the art of creating financial reports.


The Trailblazer (Entrepreneurship Development Event). It was an entrepreneurial event which aimed at displaying the successful and applicable ideas in the industrial and commercial sectors.


Finally the Business Quiz evaluated their knowledge pertaining to various aspects of management.

In all the two day event was immensely successful and the energy displayed by Christites from CIM and Bengaluru right from the preparation and organization respectively, to the whole hearted participation was evident on both the days.
