Crucial Steps taken towards Poverty Alleviation (SDG1)

REPORT OF WEBINAR ON ‘AWARENESS TOWARDS YOGA’ - Department of Data Science

As part of International Yoga Week, The Department of Data Science at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organized a webinar on AWARENESS TOWARDS YOGA on 26 June 2021 at 5.00 PM.   The department has started this initiative in 2021. The resource person for the event was Ms Arpita Ghosh.  The activity began with an introduction to the resource person, Ms Arpita Ghosh. She started the session by talking about the history of yoga and its importance in day to day activities. The activity started with basic meditation techniques and asanas. To spread awareness about yoga and keep our mental health steady during the continuous pandemic state, the instructor performed some activities that can be done anywhere and at any point of the day to reduce stress and calm down the inner self. A TECH TALK ON ANALYTICS AND BUSINESS - DEPARTMENT OF DATA SCIENCE

The Department of Data Science, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, in collaboration with Women in Big Data (WiBD), organized an expert talk on 'Exploring the impact of Analytics in Business' on 3 June 2021 from 4.30 PM - 5.30 PM. The resource person for the event was Dr Bindu Narayan, Senior Manager, EY. Around 52 participants consisting of students and faculty members, attended the event.  The event commenced at 4:30 PM, with office bearers Ms Prathna Khanna and Ms Shreya Nunna welcoming the audience. Social Awareness Program on “Basics of Online Safety and Digital Literacy” - Department of Data Science

The Centre of Excellence, CyberPeace Foundation and Department of Data Science, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus organised a Social Awareness Program on “Basics of Online Safety and Digital Literacy”. It was held on 24th June 2021 from 11.30 AM to 1 PM to engage in the topic of safe online practices and understand the digital medium.  The talk started with MC Simran Singh, 1 Year BSc Data Science Student welcoming the audience to the event. This was followed by Dr Kedar Vishnu, who delivered the welcome address. The MC engaged in an interactive session with the audience members asking their opinions on online security and practices.  The resource person of the event, Ms  Janice Verghese, Manager - Communications and Training with the CyberPeace Foundation, was introduced.  Ms Verghese started the session by introducing the concept of an introduction to Digital Literacy. School of Business and Management, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Pune Lavasa, organized a Quality Improvement Program for its faculty members on ‘Digital Transformation and Its impact on Academics’ from 26 th June 2021 to 2 nd July 2021. The introductory talk was given by Fr Director & Dean, CHRIST, Lavasa, Dr Fr Jossy P. George on “Date with Data.” It focused on the relevance of data and its use in creating logic. The talk was followed by the keynote address given by the HoD of the MBA department Dr. Binu P. Paul. It was a thought provoking session on disruption due to digital transformation in education sector, changing models of teaching & learning and the role of educator in new environment.
