Campus Connect Continued…

Department of Civil Engineering-Faculty of Engineering, Christ, Bangalore visited Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa from 22nd to   26th February 2019.  CIM, Lavasa has always been a nurturing ground for an individual’s holistic development to make an effective contribution to the society in a dynamic environment. The students of of 3PGDM had an insightful interactive session with Ms Gowri Balasubramanyam on 25th February 2019. Ms Gowri is the Global Head -Learning & Organizational Development at Hinduja Tech Limited. She is a certified behavioral and talent analyst, a professional certified Coach (PCC) from International Coach Federation (ICF) and a master practitioner of NLP. She has successfully designed large-scale global learning interventions, spearheading new initiatives and designing and executing leadership development programs. As a passionate organizational development professional she has hands on experience in conducting training sessions for middle and senior management level employees. She has worked with Cognizant and Paypal. Her interactions with the students during the first hour of the day was extremely interesting. A Grand Finale

As all good things come to an end so the week-long celebration by Brandits came to an end on 22nd February 2019. The event taught them to express feelings of love, admiration, respect and trust towards their fellow beings. It nurtured the feeling of comradeship, acceptance of failure and success. They worked in close collaboration with each other and showed respect towards the opponents. The week long activities brought forth their managerial skills in marketing and negotiation techniques. The entire credit for a mass participation goes to their teacher in charge, Dr Benny Godwin J, who worked in close coordination with all the teams and his sheer energy was visible on and off the campus, as he diligently worked till the wee hours of morning. Brand Anthropomorphism, Dubmash And Love For Talent Showcased At CIML

The fifth and sixth day began with high hopes as the scores were being compiled and all the innovative initiatives being evaluated. While active participation was the need of the hour, yet an underlying spirit of winning the competition could be seen among the participants as their innermost-hidden talent was brought forth.       Someone has rightly said "I'm not telling you it is going to be easy, I'm telling you it's going to be WORTH IT" - Anonymous. On 21st February 2019 the students created an Anthropomorphic Character for their product to demonstrate their “Love for Character”. The Brand Anthropomorphism became unique as the students used any exclusive material for this purpose. Apart from mere creation of a character they had to give an authentic justification for designing the icon. Spirited Day Four of Brandits

Brandits here, Brandits there and Brandits everywhere! That's the Brandits' impact. Everyone is keenly taking part in the activities. They support Chuck D's quote, "Never let a win get to your head, or a loss to your heart." The realm of Brandits is vast and encourages students to dream beyond the horizon. 19th February's highlight was kite festival and PUBG tournament which signified “Love to Play”. "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" is the best-selling PC/Mobile game. For PUBG eight players were there in each team and different classrooms were allocated for each team. It was amazing and thrilling to watch the entire match by everyone. A healthy competition was vividly apparent in these events.  Brandits have the innate potential to make anything happen and inspire others to join. It was visible during the next event. Kite flying festival is extremely popular in  the country and almost everyone has flown a kite once in lifetime

Brandits’ Day Two Accomplishments

Brandits' mantra is that they start by doing what is necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly they do the impossible. The students along with Dr Benny Godwin are trying to put in their best from planning the events, organizing them and learning from each activity and moving on. Day two began with a poignant street play by SPREEFIRITS. The message was conveyed in a subtle yet eloquent way. `Joy of Giving’ was another highlight of the day. The students and faculty members encouraged the students in every possible way. According to Fred DeVito "if it doesn't CHALLENGE you, it won't CHANGE You". Brandits believe in it and the highlight of the day was Product Design Competition. Each team had to come up with a working prototype (physical product) and they were entitled to use any raw material apart from the given resources. Run For Love

Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa has always been a staunch supporter of propogating love for run. Brandits' first event on 17th February 2019 was an exciting marathon entitled “Run for Love – Lavasa”. Julie Isphording has rightly said that “Run often. Run Long. But Never Outrun Your Joy of Running". It saw an active participation by the residents of Ashiana Housing Society, students, local residents and general public. The event was a joint collaboration of CIM, Lavasa and Antariksh Hotel. A warm up session was conducted by Eric and Madan for all the participants before the beginning of the marathon. It helped them to relax their muscles and they were geared up for the race. The enthusiasts ran from Town Hall and covered an approximate distance of 3 Kms. The race culminated near the Convention Center. The volunteers were positioned at all strategic locations, they cheered the runners and offered a water bottle to each participant at

Bravo Brandits

`Brandits’ is back with a bang yet again for the culmination of all the activities conducted in past trimesters. The Marketing Club’s activities saw mass participation throughout the year. The upcoming events in the next week will take the club to a new level and set a benchmark for the coming years under the leadership and motivation of Dr Benny Goldwin J. The scene has been set to take it beyond the horizon. It has been aptly captioned as `Dream Beyond the Horizon’ and the theme is `Bond of Love’. 16th February 2019 saw the advent of week-long activities by Marketing Club in the form of a group performance. The event will encompass various activities where the participants will be from a wide array of fields such as students, teaching and non-teaching staff students. Exclusive Meeting of University Student Council at CIM

Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa nurtures a very strong bond with the students and faculty members of Christ University, Bengaluru. It was an honour to host 52 students of the University Student Council and four faculty mentors including Prof Johny Joseph, Controller of Examinations and General Coordinator of the University Student Council.   University Student Council is a prominent group of students who represent every department of the university. Every effort is made to bridge the gap between the management and the students and hence various activities are conducted round the year. Campus Connect programs are also a part of such endeavours.   The University Student Council arrived at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa on 15th February 2019 for a Campus Connect Programme and to review the student council, plan it's future and introspect on their work done till date. Campus Connect with Kengari Campus’ CS Batch of 2019

Campus Connect Programs are always welcomed at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa. Some students from the Kengari campus were on the campus from 11th to 15th February 2019. Students from Computer Science Department (Kengeri Campus) Batch of 2019 reached the beautiful CIM campus on 11th February 2019.   On the first day they visited Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum and Shanivar Wada Fort of the Wodeyar family in Pune. The second day began with an exciting and adventurous trek in the vicinity of the CIM. They were awe inspired by the pristine beauty of Lavasa’s landscape. After a thrilling trek they went for watersports activities such as boating and kayaking. Strolling on the promenade was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all. Momentous Meeting With Rev. Bishop Antony

It was an honour for the faculty members of Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa to have a brief interaction with Rev. Fr. Kannikadass William Antony, Bishop of Mysore on 8th February 2019 in the campus. Rev. Bishop Antony is a member of the Diocesan College of Consultors, of the Diocesan Financial Council and of the Mysore Diocesan Society (MDS), as well as the Diocesan Public Relation Officer (PRO) and the Defender of Bond at the Diocesan Tribunal, in the Diocese of Mysore.   Director, Fr Jossy P George introduced him as a missionary with a vision. Rev. Bishop Antony played a vital role in the transition of the college from Christ College to Christ University, Bengaluru. He articulated his ardent desire to see CIM, Lavasa rise up to that level as it has the potential to scale greater peaks of excellence in future. The Annual Management Fest “XUBRENZ 2019” organized by Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa began by invoking the blessings of the Almighty on 1st February 2019. Fr Dr Jossy George, Director CIM, Fr Arun Antony, Academic Co-ordinator, Chief Guest, Dr Fr Benny Thomas, Director, School of Law and Engineering, Christ University  (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, Dr Binu P Paul , Head of Academics, Assistant Professor Soumya V, Coordinator, XUBRENZ 2019, Mr Venkatesh and Ms Riya Joshy, student coordinators came forward  for the lighting of lamp. Students from Christ University, Bengaluru and a few colleges from Pune attended the event.  XUBRENZ, a national level Annual Management Fest, is known to engage and challenge management students from across the country with highly competitive events in the fields of Business Analytics, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources as well as Arts.
