Campus Connect Continued…
Department of Civil Engineering-Faculty of Engineering, Christ, Bangalore visited Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa from 22nd to 26th February 2019. CIM, Lavasa has always been a nurturing ground for an individual’s holistic development to make an effective contribution to the society in a dynamic environment. The vision and mission of the institute strives to transform students into effective contributors in this century which is challenging and constantly evolving. CIM, Lavasa not just promotes quality education that creates tomorrow’s professionals but also transforms them into responsible citizens with ethical and human values.
On 21st February 2019 finally, the dream came true and final year Civil Enginering and M Tech Structural Engineering first year students headed for Lavasa with enthusiasm and excitement. They were escorted by Dr. Shibu K Mani and Mrs. Laxmi. They were welcomed warmly at CIML ON 22nd February followed by sumptuous meals at `Steaming Mugs’, the dining area. It was followed by a wonderful guided Nature Trail Trek and Cogitation at Ekaant. They enjoyed the memorable experience
The next day began with a game of badminton and then the team visited Lakeshore water sports. Few of them enjoyed kayaking, pedal boats and jet skiing.

Sunday, 24th February 2019 had a pleasant surprise in store for them. They went for a refreshing trek along the mountains in Lavasa, where they got an opportunity to mingle with the people of Lavasa and got a breath taking view of the enchanting city from a hill top. The next day they visited Pune city where they specifically went to Ganesh Temple and Shanivar Vada fort where they saw the ancient methods of construction. During the journey from Pune to Lavasa they observed many geological features like formation of rocks and landslides. The students observed that landslides hilly terrains were protected by stone and reinforcement bracing to prevent damage during minor landslides. Finally on Tuesday, 26th February 2019, with fond memories in their hearts, pictures captured in cameras and souvenirs in hands, the students bid goodbye to this beautiful place. The bonding with each other made the trip extremely memorable.
