On the 22nd of June, 2023, the School of Commerce, Finance, and Accountancy in association with Lotus Knowlwealth Pvt. Ltd. and Bombay Stock Exchange organized an Investor Education Programme for the second-and third-year batches of BCOM FA students. The sessions were conducted in the Smart Room, Management Block, and covered topics pertaining to Capital Market Awareness, Introduction to Mutual Funds, and Financial Planning. There were two separate sessions for each batch; the second-year students had their sessions at 1:30 PM while the final-year students had their session on at 2:30 PM. The orientation programme for the academic year 2023 was inaugurated on August 7, 2023, at 11 AM. The inaugural address was delivered by the Program Coordinator, Ms. Shivani Jadhav followed by the Director and HOD’s address to the students. The students were informed about the School of Law Programme Structure, Attendance Policies and Etiquette by the Programme Coordinators followed by lunch. Post lunch a session on Introduction to the Legal Profession was taken by Dr S Somu which was followed by an introductory session on the CHRIST Ethos and Culture Revisited, Philosophy of Holistic Education & Graduate Attributes by the academic coordinator.  Day 2 began with the orientation on Internship and placements by the Coordinators of the Internship committee, followed by a session on Research at Christ University, orientation by the IT Department and Centre for Counselling and Health services before lunch. Algorithmic Trading workshop

The Algorithmic Trading workshop was a 3-hour event that covered the basics of the stock market, options trading, manual vs. algorithmic trading, and a profitable options strategy. The workshop also included hands-on training on the Tradetron platform. The workshop was well-received by the students and they found the information to be valuable and informative. The instructor was a seasoned algorithmic trader with over 10 years of experience and was able to clearly explain the concepts and answer the students' questions. The workshop materials were well-organized and easy to follow. The hands-on training was a valuable addition to the workshop and gave the students the opportunity to practice what they learned. A workshop on ‘Financial statement Analysis’ was conducted for the first year BCom students on 9th February 2023. The guest speaker/trainer for the session was Mr. Sarvesh Mopkar. Sarvesh is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and is a post-graduate in commerce from Pune University. He holds a Diploma in IFRS (ACCA) and also a Diploma in Systems Audit (ICAI). He has more than 12 years of expertise in the audit sector and has managed audit assignments and financial reporting challenges with a number of India's mid-sized audit consultancy businesses. Avian Allies, the Birders’ Club of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus organized a Bird-a-thon event on 28th September 2023. The fun and insightful walk commenced at the Gazebo in the Central Block at 9 AM. Led by the resource person, Mr Avishkar Munje who is currently a visiting faculty for Environmental Awareness, Ecology, Environmental Biotechnology and Biostatistics at Fergusson College, Pune, the aim of the event was to help the attendees gain awareness regarding the bird species found on Campus and appreciate the rich avian diversity of the region.  The walk began with a briefing by the resource person regarding basic etiquettes of bird watching such as wearing dull clothing that would camouflage with the surroundings, moving slowly in small groups without making much noise and maintaining a safe distance from birds engaged in nesting, mating or rearing chicks. The participants were also introduced to the eBird App and the importance of recording bird sightings. 

Storytelling Carnival

The Storytelling Carnival was conducted by the Department of Languages, School of Arts and Humanities, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus in collaboration with the SpeakSphere Club. The Carnival was held on 10th October 2023 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Indian novelist, R K Narayan. It comprised three competitive literary events held at the Gazebo as well as various stalls set up in the Social Sphere, Central Block. The session started with a silent prayer. This was followed by a welcome address and a brief introduction by the Emcee touching upon the literary contributions of R K Narayan and his place in the Indian literary canon. Famous for his works like Swami and Friends and Malgudi Days, Narayan is considered to be one of the finest storytellers of his generation.
