Colours of India Celebrated with Pomp And Show

  26th January 2019 was an eventful day at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa. The day began with celebration of Republic Day in the campus followed by Sports Day celebration of Dasve Public School. The alumni meet took place in the afternoon. The students who left the portal of the college have lived up to the expectations and are successfully carrying forward the legacy. 'Colours of India', the much awaited event, began in the evening against the backdrop of the setting sun. It continued till 27th January 2019.   The stage was set, anchors, singers and dancers were all geared up for a spectacular show. The fool proof organisation and successful execution of the plan was clearly visible throughout the program. CIM Celebrates 70th Republic Day

The country's 70th Republic Day was celebrated at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa on 26th January 2019. The students and faculty members assembled in the college. After a floral tribute Director, Fr Jossy George unfurled the national flag to mark the occasion. Wind Orchestra team from Christ University, Bengaluru played the national anthem on a medley of musical instruments. Gp Capt JK Pandey, delivered a speech on this occasion highlighting the relevance of the day. He spoke with pride about the activities that take place in the capital, New Delhi. He narrated the importance of constitution and how it has brought about a remarkable change in the society. He further conveyed President's message about safety for women and maintenance of unity in diversity across the country. CIM Initiates a Cleanliness Drive in Lavasa

A cleanliness drive was organised by the Center of Social Activities Club - Vikaas from Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa in association with Gram Panchayat Dasve of Mulshi Taluka, Lavasa on Friday, 25th January 2019 near the centrally located Town Hall. CIM upholds values of cleanliness and maintaining hygiene in and around the surroundings. The cleanliness initiative was solely taken to inspire all the citizens of Lavasa to protect this beautiful city and keep it neat and clean not just on special occasions but throughout the year.   The enthusiastic participants assembled in front of Town Hall around 2.30 pm and began the cleaning process with great zeal and enthusiasm. To mark the occasion a welcome address was given by a student in Marathi and Hindi. The students of CIM were divided into teams and were allocated various locations. INTENSIVE WORKSHOP ON CASE TEACHING, WRITING AND RESEARCH AT CIM

An Intensive Workshop on Case Teaching, Writing and Research was conducted at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa from 12th to 14 and from 17th to 19th January 2019. Professors from various disciplines of Christ University, Bengaluru attended it. The learning objectives were clearly defined at the beginning through study material that was shared with all the participants. It delineated the demands of case-based pedagogy from the case instructor's perspective. It successfully outlined the transition journey from excellence in case teaching to excellence in case writing, research and publication. Above all it provided a platform for sharing experiences and insights in the same fields through brain storming sessions. It was extremely interactive in nature and provided a great learning experience. SHARE A LITTLE TO SHOW YOU CARE

Christ Institute of Management (CIM) Lavasa believes in inculcating values of selfless service to society through various initiatives. As part of a Social Responsibility Initiative CIM joined hands with Jahangir hospital, Pune and organized a "Blood Donation Camp" on 18th January 2019 in the campus from 10 am to 4.30 pm.   Some students and faculty members volunteered, came forward for such a noble cause and contributed to the lives of other fellow beings willfully. It instilled in them a feeling of care and concern for others and displayed the feeling that a little care goes a long way in making a big difference in the lives of people with whom we may not interact regularly. It displayed a very important lesson for humanity. Long live the spirit of selfless service in the minds and hearts of Christies.

CAMPUS CONNECT PROGRAM

Campus Connect programs are a part and parcel of Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa. The year began with a campus connect program wherein 39 students and 2 faculty members from the Department of International Studies and History from Christ (Deemed to be a University), Bengaluru main Campus arrived at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa Campus on Friday, 4 th January 2019.  The drive from the airport was highly admired by one and all and instantly they were transported to the serene and calm environment of Lavasa. After resting for a while they went for water activities at the promenade and watched the incredibly beautiful sunset near the lake. The evening continued to enthrall them as they enjoyed themselves when a bonfire was lit at night. The fun and frolic continued for some time. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

The students of Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa are all set to meet their alma mater this month. An executive committee meeting was held on Saturday, 5th January 2019 in the Social Scinces Block. It began with a presentation by Director, Dr Fr Jossy George on the journey of CIM since 2014 till date. The formal interaction with Director, selected students and few faculty members was quite meaningful. The meeting began with an assessment of past alumni activities and it featured various topics such as admission assistance and having a press conference. It was also decided to give a medal for best outgoing student. The academic and corporate relationship was also discussed in detail with specific reference to power talk and corporate kick-off activity. Some valuable suggestions were made such as making efforts to connect with the current students better and get a suitable name for Alumni Association. INTERACTIVE ROLE PLAY ACTIVITY CONDUCTED BY MARKETING CLUB

Teaching at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa is not just relegated to learning the basics but equal emphasis is given to combining theoretical background knowledge with practical application. On 4th January 2019 Marketing Club conducted an interesting and interactive role play activity for its students. The fun filled activity tested their marketing skills and strategies to handle a given situation. The topics were quiet interesting and different from the routine. One of them was `You are to sell a lux strawberry bar of soap to the Sentinelese tribe without getting killed’.   The winning team’s topic was, ` Tom Cruise is the new brand ambassador for MTR masalas In India’. They came up with a brilliant mission to rescue someone and Tom Cruise had to use MTR masala to pacify his wife whom he had left halfway through dinner to save the life of another woman! CIM FRATERNITY WARMLY WELCOMED

Fr Jossy P George, Director, Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa warmly welcomed the CIM fraternity on 3rd January 2019 when the college reopened after the winter break through a motivational presentation aptly entitled ` Focus Driven Excellence’. 3rd January is marked as Founder’s Day. Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the Founder of the religious congregation Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (C.M.I) is a role model and his vision is made manifest in the institution. He has left his indelible marks in the spheres of education, social reform, media, culture and religious formation. India’s first indigenous religious congregation for men, C.M.I was his brainchild. In 1831, along with the support of Fr. Thomas Palackal and Fr.
