Brandits’ Day Two Accomplishments

Brandits' mantra is that they start by doing what is necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly they do the impossible. The students along with Dr Benny Godwin are trying to put in their best from planning the events, organizing them and learning from each activity and moving on.

Day two began with a poignant street play by SPREEFIRITS. The message was conveyed in a subtle yet eloquent way. `Joy of Giving’ was another highlight of the day. The students and faculty members encouraged the students in every possible way.

According to Fred DeVito "if it doesn't CHALLENGE you, it won't CHANGE You". Brandits believe in it and the highlight of the day was Product Design Competition. Each team had to come up with a working prototype (physical product) and they were entitled to use any raw material apart from the given resources. The idea behind their product should be unique and must benefit the underprivileged. Originality was taken into consideration. A full-scale working model was submitted on Monday, 18th February 18 2019 before 09:10 AM. The students burnt midnight oil and presented very creative and innovative projects.

Each task has an underlying learning outcome and this creative task taught the students management concepts and creative thinking. The product making process taught them the nuances of strategic and tactical planning and polished their decision making skills. They got hands on experience regarding business plan expertise and they worked as a close knit team.

It was a delight to watch Tug Of War at 6 pm in the Amphitheater. The event signified “Love for Power”. A team consisted of six members with four boys and two girls. The first Knock Out Match was played between Spreefirits Vs Upbeat Finis and the second match was between Mindhunters Vs Shadowhunters.

During the day another interactive task was given to the students captioned `Humans of Lavasa’ “Love for Human”. It tested their Digital Marketing skills. They had to select any shopkeeper who has been a resident of Lavasa for more than five years. The task expected them to explain their product to the shopkeeper and gather his / her opinion about their product. It was mandatory to take a picture with the concerned shopkeeper. Apart from this they had to write how the shopkeeper can be benefited by their product. Precision was given weightage and the word limit was neither less than 55 nor more than 65 words.

The icing on the cake was Culinary Art Fest in the Amphitheater which displayed “Love for Food”. Four members formed a team. The aim of the competition was to discover hidden culinary talents as minimum four dishes per team were prepared on the spot. The ingredients etc. were brought by the participants themselves. While the students are at home away from home they showcased their culinary skills and evaluation was based on taste, variety, overall presentation and creativity.  In all it was a fun filled day with a plethora of activities.
