Run For Love

Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa has always been a staunch supporter of propogating love for run. Brandits' first event on 17th February 2019 was an exciting marathon entitled “Run for Love – Lavasa”. Julie Isphording has rightly said that “Run often. Run Long. But Never Outrun Your Joy of Running".

It saw an active participation by the residents of Ashiana Housing Society, students, local residents and general public. The event was a joint collaboration of CIM, Lavasa and Antariksh Hotel.

A warm up session was conducted by Eric and Madan for all the participants before the beginning of the marathon. It helped them to relax their muscles and they were geared up for the race.

The enthusiasts ran from Town Hall and covered an approximate distance of 3 Kms. The race culminated near the Convention Center.

The volunteers were positioned at all strategic locations, they cheered the runners and offered a water bottle to each participant at the end of the race.
Then there was a flash mob led by Torini and Diana. Everyone joined in and danced in sync with the main dancers. It was a sight to behold. At the end the audience formed a circle and had a laughter therapy session for a few minutes.

Mr Balbir Singh gave away the first prize to Atish Margale and Ms Renuka Marwah congratulated the second winner, Suresh Dhebe and gave him the second prize. The third prize was given to a student from CIM, Anish Josey Abraham by Dr Benny Godwin. Director, Fr Jossy congratulated the winners and thanked the participants for their enthusiastic participation.

The event was a great learning experience for the students when they had to convince people to take part in the marathon and collect money for a noble cause. They learnt how to get over the fear of talking to strangers and practice listening more than talking. They also learnt how to persuade without being annoying. Thereby it taught them how to deal with rejection. Above all they learnt the art of prioritization and self-discipline.

In all the first day was quite encouraging and it has motivated the students of Marketing Club to put in their best for the programs which have been scheduled for the coming week.
