REACH OUT AND TOUCH PEOPLE’S LIVES
Reach Out And Touch People’s Lives
An interactive
session was conducted by MENTORING AND COUNSELLING SERVICES (MACS) at Christ
Institute of Management, Lavasa on 14th and 15th September 2018 for
PGDM2 students. A team led by Professor Noel from Christ University, Bengaluru
coordinated the workshop. It features ways and means of “Touching Lives”. The
workshop began with Coordinator, Fr Arun Antony’s address. Fr Arun said that it
was slightly different from a regular class. He motivated the students to
reflect a little more on core moral values as they are being prepared to work
as business leaders in the corporate world. These values will empower them to
sustain success in the corporate sector.
Professor Noel
thanked Director, Fr Jossy P George and Coordinator, Fr Arun profusely for
their whole hearted cooperation, encouragement and inspiration. The anchors
were overwhelmed by the beauty of the landscape and intend to touch the lives
of the students of Christ Institute of Mangement, Lavasa and try to put things
in the right perspective through the sessions.
The first session was
aptly entitled, `LOVE FOR FELLOW BEINGS and PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE’. The 20
minutes session was highly interactive in nature and Christies participated
with zeal and zest. They were uninhibited in expressing themselves and were
engrossed in the session from the beginning to the end. The combined session
helped them to understand the meaning of life as they watched glimpses from the
movie, Will Smith’s `Pursuit of Excellence’. It was truly inspirational and one
could feel an air of positivity all around as Christies felt completely
motivated. The second session centred around `MORAL UPRIGHTNESS and SOCIAL
RESPONSIBILITY’. An interactive game and role play were used as techniques to
convey the message.
On 15TH September 2018 the
third session was about `FAITH IN GOD’. The activity was suitably entitled “Cup
Hurdle”. The Christies were touched immensely as they watched a video, “DNA”
which focused on `Love for Fellow Beings’. The meaningful two days ended with
a feedback followed by Lighting of the Candle. There were some poignant moments
when the students broke down as they felt emotional however, the other fellow
students and the organizers comforted them. It is certain that such sessions
offer another way of looking at life and campus life is not just limited to
information from books. Life is indeed a great teacher.
