Brandits 3.0 - Day 7
Come rain or high water Christites move on with zeal and
vigor. Tetrathlon Championship - 2019 was the highlight of 2nd
August 2019. The enthusiastic students assembled near the gate between Central
Block and Management Block around 2.45 PM.
The participants were geared up for the tasks that included
Mud Hopping, Bridge Crossing, Running, Rock Climbing and Rain Yoga. The Tetrathlon
ended at Lavasa Toll Gate.
The faculty members who ran along with enthusiastic students were Dr Benny Godwin, Dr Jayant Mahajan, Prof Jobin Jacob and CRM, Gp Capt JK Pandey.
The event tested the participants’
physical endurance, stamina and exhibited their never-say-die attitude from
start to finish. Their adventurous spirit inspired many onlookers and everyone could
be seen cheering for adventurous Christites.
Despite cloudburst and intermittent downpour
during the performance Team D’s Street Play was a sight to behold. The act was
nearly at par with professional artists.
The tempo is gaining momentum, the
students are coming up with interesting ideas and involving one and all from
teaching to non-teaching staff to win points for their respective teams. Here is
an update on the activities of all the teams. Team A is not able to come up
with any novel idea to boost the morale of their team and win points for
themselves, yet, they still have time to catch up with others next week.
Team B
supported importance of customer retention considering
online and offline marketing, asked Ganga Ram Bhaiya to make tricolor idli representing
Independence Day, depicted the importance of different colors in packaging by
wearing colorful clothes and created a picture story illustrating how language
barrier can be solved by using a common language. They came up with an
interesting idea entitled, "Your old can be someone’s new"; a campaign
where people can donate stationary, books and clothes, or anything for the
welfare of anyone, enlightened others about Ergonomics referring to the
shape of a water bottle, created a motion poster about ‘Be different’, made
a digital poster about the importance of saving water and celebrated
international beer day by circulating a motion poster among friends signifying
the bond between friends.
Team C was
equally enthusiastic and paid tribute to the
three-year-old rape victim by distributing candles and observing silence for
two minutes, followed Black dress code to symbolize their sympathy for people
who are suffering, designed poster depicting Assam floods to increase awareness
and stood in the rain for a minute to empathize and pay condolence to the
victims of Assam floods, spread awareness regarding different emotions, promoted
"World Breast feeding Week", helped Mr Vishak to carry the equipment,
arranged 'arm wrestling' match against different teams, assisted a fellow team
member in dressing a wound while the doctors were engaged with another patient
in Apollo and promoted the spirit of healthy competition "Level up:
Brandits" through the latest "BODMAS" challenge which is
trending on Twitter.
Team D came
up with a unique idea and the boys and girls
applied lipstick and kissed on hands of other team members to suggest love for
fellow brethren, on account of Parents' Day they expressed their love and regards
towards their parents through messages, made pairs and tied their hands using
red ribbon during class hours, expressed gender sensitization using arm
wrestling, to foster a bond among each other they performed push-ups and gave
high-five and distributed bananas among support staff.
As a part of personal hygiene Team D
created an awareness campaign by giving Dettol soaps to local shopkeepers and
residents, cleaned utensils in a local tea shop using Vim bar and apart from
all this they also shared a team member's catering experience and knowledge
with hoteliers and made them understand the importance of competitive market.
Mr Vighnesh, owner of Royal Juice Bar was very happy with the insights. They
greeted and thanked vegetables vendors, helped the security guards and other
support staff members by watering plants and tying a pipe, delivered couriers
to faculty members, discussed matters with non-teaching staff and counselled
them, removed the algae spread in the parking area, helped volunteers to
collect garbage after an event and also assisted the canteen staff and above
all they followed Black color as dress code to protest against terrorism and offered
condolences for Assam flood victims.
Considering their involvement in
various events and yesterday's tiring uphill Tetrathlon Championship, it
has been decided to give them a break on 3rd August 2019 so that they
are able to rest, recoup, feel rejuvenated and take part in rain Marathon enthusiastically
on Sunday, 4th August 2019. 'Exhibit your Talent' round has been rescheduled
to Tuesday, 6th August 2019 along with Tug of War in the evening. In
the meantime, raffle and movie tickets are still being sold and registration for
Rain Marathon is also in progress.
