It was conducted on a hybrid platform (online and offline).

Student Coordinator Ms Mercy Jacob gave the inauguration speech and welcomed our guest speaker, Mr Abhilash Chatterjee on behalf of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus followed by silent prayer.

Mr Abhilash Chatterjee talked about the horizons of Fin-tech and how Fin-tech is revolutionizing financial services through automation of operations, how individuals pay for things, manage money, get loans, invest in stocks/bonds/ mutual funds. At its core, Fin-tech is utilized to help companies, business owners, and customers better manage their financial operations, processes, and lives using specialized software and algorithms on computers and smartphones. He gave examples of how Tally, SAP software required manual updation but now is supported by automated systems that regularly update the software with less human intervention.

He gave insights into an industry perspective on what is expected of finance specialists about the knowledge of Artificial intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep-learning, financial forecasting, regression tools, block-chain, IoT, also a continuous learning curve of a finance individual.

He emphasized developing analytical skills and knowledge about analytical tools, which helps in forecasting financial figures rather than being daunted by coding, which is not expected of a finance individual but an added benefit if understood.

Opportunities discussed in the event were regarding Fin-tech, BFSI, Insure-tech, and Ed-tech that seek to transform traditional systems with disruptive ideas leveraged by new digital technologies. The event was concluded by a vote of thanks to the guest speaker and faculty in charge by Ms Mercy Jacob.
