Marketing Conclave 2020!

 
This year’s Marketing Conclave was organized by the Marketing Club of Christ University, Lavasa campus, on the 9th of October 2020. The theme for the conclave was “Marketing 4.0 – Value creation in the digital era”.

Darothi, David, and Sanaya anchored the event. As guests for the event, there were three prominent speakers: Dr. Gibson Vedamani, Mr. Kurien Abraham, and Mr. Sowmith Mukund. The event commenced at 2:30 pm with an introduction to the theme, i.e., "Marketing 4.0 – Value creation in the digital era". Anukool, Sherin, and Rahul sang the welcome song, first-year MBA batch followed by Fr. Jossy' felicitation speech.

The event was then followed by the introduction of each speaker, led by a 30 minutes talk where each speaker addressed the students along with a question and answers round of 10 minutes each.

The first speaker for the day was Dr. Gibson Vedamani, the CEO and Founder of Retailvarsity. His eloquent speech about the various concepts and means used for marketing such as neuromarketing, point of sales marketing, etc. helped the students understand the marketing strategies of Amazon, Bata, and Tesla even better. Mr. Vedamani’s inputs on Amazon Go was indeed insightful.

The second speaker was Mr. Kurien Abraham, the Marketing Director of IPA India Exports. While addressing the students, he threw light on how by customizing the machines for his customers, the company acquired a significant market share and stressed on understanding the importance of the customers’ requirements.

 Lastly, Mr. Sowmith Mukund, the third speaker for the day, is a lead generation and performance consultant for marketing programs. He discussed how back in 2005, Airtel implemented various marketing strategies to break out of the T-Rex nest. Just within five months, it experienced five times more growth in terms of customer addition. Mr. Mukund also explained how design thinking helped him in creating an impact among his partners. Among the many other things, one important topic addressed was how marketers could build a brand image amidst the 2020 pandemic.


Like every event has to come to an end, the Marketing Conclave 2020 concluded at 5:00 pm with a vote of thanks to the guest speakers for their valuable inputs and enthusiastic discussions with the students, Fr. Jossy, the teachers and event organizers, and last but not the least the students for their sheer participation.
