Zentered Minds - Youth mental health summit

If there is one thing we could agree on, every parent wants their children to be successful and lead a healthy life, but the harsh reality is that life is unpredictable and comes with enormous challenges. Parents are the first guidance from and through whom children learn every aspect of life, and knowingly or unknowingly, parenting creates an inerasable impact on youths' mental, physical and emotional well-being. Parents must understand the needs of their children to consciously create a safe space that would ensure mentally stable growth.

Especially the youth period is a primary transitional phase that sets the carpet for the rest of the journey down life; with that being said, self-doubts, insecurities, low self-confidence, low self-esteem becomes an undeniable parcel of youth. Parents have to pay heed to the behavioral changes, childhood messages, and mindset of the children and accordingly shape their attitude and behavior to create an encouraging environment where the youth could trust, learn and grow into confident individuals.

In this era of social media, youths are bound to be influenced by social media and would be forced to fall prey to the fake attention-centric world.

Zentered Minds presented a summit to address the issues facing the youths. It focused on mental health and parenting styles. It was a panel discussion on how parenting can affect the mental well-being of the youth. Ms Arpita Ghosh, from CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa campus, also spoke about childhood messages creating an impact on the minds, and as adults, we respond and react from that standpoint.
